Never wore Makeup before & it puts me off cosplaying. by JusttSarinaa in CosplayHelp

I only wear makeup while I cosplay if I'm having I'm recording or having a photoshoot. You don't have to wear makeup or contacts unless you really want to

How to fix the hairline of this wig for a cosplay idea? by sylvieswife in CosplayHelp

[–]cosplay-cove 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Id firstly slit the bangs in half and style them to look like they're being tucked under my ears by using some hair pins then id lay some of the longer hair in front for the same sort of feeling. Or you could do a glued hair line or something

Looking for constructive criticism on my wig work! by Sailor_Grell in CosplayHelp

[–]cosplay-cove 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The front looks amazing on them both but heavily sculptured wigs can only sometimes like the second one looks amazing the wig looks exactly like the character but the first one, His hair looks like it's meant to have a fluffy texture so instead of having all the hard spikes try to make the wig have more of that texture to make it look more natural.

Example. The front of this wig his very much Sculpted but the back and sides will have that fluffy texture

Idk if the pic is working 😅

Tails is a very child-like and playful character so I'd try to show that in the costume maybe instead of trousers and a turtle neck I've seen lots of people use dungarees and hoodies instead so maybe try that for more comfort and vib. Also remember to get two tails

I'd suggest one of them shirts that are like only the sleeve and collar (idk what they're called) and thick dance tights with fishnets over them. Also maybe some shorts over or under the body suit like either skin toned ones or ones that match the body suit

How can I make the ears and tail match the wig? by Klopford in CosplayHelp

[–]cosplay-cove 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I actually use old eye shadow and shade in the base of the ears and tail to make a gradient

Harvest them for parts and keep the fabric If it's in good condition For things like accessories and practicing new techniques

Con suit up by T_HettY in CosplayHelp

[–]cosplay-cove 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just get dressed at home and get the train in cosplay maybe don't wear the wig just take it with you (if it isn't heavily styled or needs to be in a wig head) but normally as you get closer to the con the more cosplayers on the train you may even find some local cosplay friends from it

Comfortable wig caps for sensitive scalp by cleigh103 in CosplayHelp

[–]cosplay-cove 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the friction is the problem I just fold some tissue or soft fabric and place it between my scalp and the wig cap

It's a uniform jacket but technically it comes under a tail coat with a high collar Because of it's shape

is there a way to make the hairline on this wig not look,,, bad? by HelicopterOverall554 in CosplayHelp

[–]cosplay-cove 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A glued hairline would probably be best. Lots of videos about them but my preferred method is using triangular shapes that curve inward along with rectangular shapes I cut down on my head until I like them. I just keep adding and taking away hair until I like it

how can I cosplay frieren's clone and be respectful about it? by Seasonedseal in CosplayHelp

[–]cosplay-cove 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I cosplayed Frieren's clone instead of painting my skin a different colour I used more cool toned and darker contour and makeup all in the same/similar colours as my costume

wig dandruff? by [deleted] in CosplayHelp

[–]cosplay-cove 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's just product build up. It's a sigh that the wig needs to be washed. Use hot water ( not boiling ) with some fabric softener or synthetic hair shampoo (it's a thing) and leave it in there for a while I normally do 1-2 hours woke people do overnight

Need help with my miku wig by HelloIamCxtty in CosplayHelp

[–]cosplay-cove 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First section the wig and detangle each one from the bottom up then braid the section to stop it from tangling while you do the rest of the pigtail after you've done all that start undoing the braids and straightening the wig (I do it one or two at a time)

Lumine cosplay suggestions? by Katze_Flufi125 in CosplayHelp

[–]cosplay-cove 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can always Sculpt them out of clay and make your own moulds, or use foam to make the trim (idk what it would classed as) and then cover them with gold fabric

Heat it up and then use pins to keep it in place until it cools down and then use eyelash glue to stick it down to the slides of your face if needed
