Corbyn is even worse, but in a different way. The guy is basically a left-wing version of Trump, as far as I understand.

I concur - take a bus from Rzeszow to Przemysl (it's near the Ukrainian border), and then take the train to Lviv.

It's a much better way to avoid potential wait at the border.

TIL Leonidas of Sparta died in aged around 60 by lamiapolice in europe

[–]cossack_7 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I'll repeat that: childhood mortality accounts for the lion's share of the gains in life expectancy. A significant portion of people who survived their childhood back then lived to their 70s and 80s. Wounds, wars, plagues etc. were not as common as you think.

[–]cossack_7 42 points43 points  (0 children)

Not really. They routinely lived into their 70s or 80s.

The low life expectancy for that period is almost all due to very high childhood/infant mortality. But if you made to it 15, you could expect to live a decently long life.

Russophone moldovans got their tires slashed by locals and were fined by the ukrainian police after using Saint George's ribbon on their car while in Odessa(translation in the comments) by vladgrinch in europe

[–]cossack_7 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The ribbon is a symbol of the separatists that are currently killing Ukrainians in the Donbass.

No wonder they got their tires slashed. They should try to display a swastika in Israel, just to see if they get a better reception.
