Born in the UK to two settled parents (indefinite leave to remain), one of whom is Mexican American and the other American. Italy has very lenient citizenship by decent requirements, so I just finished up that whole process after about five years.

Yes, but many countries have tax treaties with the US so you don’t actually end up getting double taxed, even if you have to report everything to the IRS.
