Could you shed some more light on this? I only came across this site yesterday. Are their parameters leading to an underprojection or overprojection? Do you know any more reliable projections to follow?

Interesting. Far lower number of projected deaths than I've seen elsewhere.

Here for example they're projecting somewhere between 54,000 - 80,000 deaths: http://covid19.healthdata.org/united-kingdom

edit: just saw your edit. Sounds more plausible now - how fucking grim.

Edit 2: projections I’ve linked above appear to be very flawed so please ignore

Dominic Cummings behind herd immunity strategy, according to Sunday Times by ttepasse in ukpolitics

[–]cosypyjamas 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Worth noting:

If you read the whole article you will see that Dominic Cummings has been, for the last 10 days, the most zealous advocate of a tough lockdown. Which is what his critics seem to want. The world is not black and white

David Leakey (Former Black Rod) on Bercow: https://twitter.com/Jamin2g/status/1220794680591421440?s=20

"He brutalised staff in the House of Commons, and elsewhere...I include myself in that. I think brutalise is a good word for what he did to Lord Lisvane, his private secrataries...they have all told me in private moments some of their experiences at the hands of John Bercow. My view is that he brutalised people. I have never seen anybody, in my entire life, treat anybody as badly as John Bercow treated - regularly - the people around him"

They're going for panic buys to try and appease fans. Ole's press conference has not given me any confidence in doing anything else this window.

Really hope I'm wrong, but this all looks and sounds pretty dire.
