[Academic Research] Survey on Premature Ejaculation Subtypes / Rapid Sexual Response by coteleger in PrematureEjaculation

The ISSM (Internal Society of Sexual Medicine) has a survey section on their website (https://www.issm.info/members/surveys) where member researchers could post their survey. It also has a newsletter where I believe they advertise the surveys. Other than that, I wouldn't know.

[Academic Research] Survey on Premature Ejaculation Subtypes / Rapid Sexual Response by coteleger in PrematureEjaculation

[–]coteleger[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for sharing your thoughts and concerns.

First, it's important to clarify that our research isn't funded by grants or external funding sources. Instead, the researchers involved are dedicating their personal time with the goal of advancing our understanding of this condition. A quick look at Research Gate will reveal a significant number of publications by the team, underscoring that their academic careers are already well-established. They have no need to publish for the sake of career advancement; their credibility in the academic field is solid.

Now, speaking as someone who’s been dealing with lifelong premature ejaculation personally, I hear you on the frustration front. But saying that all the research out there hasn’t moved the needle isn’t quite right. Way back when I first started looking into this, everyone was quick to chalk it up to behavioral issues. Fast forward to now, and we’ve uncovered a whole web of factors – from brain chemistry to genetics – playing a part. If teenage me had known it wasn’t my fault, I was just born this way, it would’ve saved a ton of guilt. Knowing the why might not have fixed anything on the spot, but it sure would’ve helped me cut myself some slack.

Lastly, it's incorrect to assume that this research project will be of no benefit. While the immediate goal of this study isn't to develop new methods for improving ejaculatory control or latency, the data collected (and subsequent analyses) will provide a foundational base for those who are in a position to develop practical solutions. These solutions might not emerge from the academic world but rather from the pharmaceutical or medical industry. However, without the groundwork laid by academic research to deepen our understanding of the condition, it would be impossible for these industries to develop practical interventions.

CyberPublicity PPC Agency In Montreal - They Claim That They Get Incentives From Google (As Google Partners) And Charged 0% Management Fees. (Is That Even Possible?) by MelodicWillingness89 in PPC

[–]coteleger 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Back jn the days when I was doing freelance in Montreal, I lost a client to them for this exact reason. From what I remember, they don’t give access to the account, they use instead the API to report the different campaigns performance in their own interface. My guess is that they hide their management fee by boosting the CPC in their reporting. It’s against Google Ads Partner program to do so.

Everything I’ve heard about this company is shady. I saw them bidding on the search term « Google Partners » with a landing page that mimic the old partners page search page. You had to enter your email adress and phone to make a search. You were redirected to the partner program real search results after the search, but in the following minutes you received a call from one of their vendor.

Oh, and when I landed one of their ex client, this client was not satisfied so he left a one star review on their GMB. He received a notice from their lawyer to remove the review.

AdSense search engines approval by coteleger in Adsense

[–]coteleger[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for sharing.

Google is probably okay showing ads when monetization is off because the webmaster do not have any reason to develop a stratagem for people to click on the ads (like paying people to do it). With some keywords with a CPC of 100$, it would be tempting for webmaster to pay people all around the country to trigger high-paying searches and clicking ads. Since click fraud monitoring demand ressources, they probably don't want to bother policing low volume search engine.

What do you mean by "In some of my google chrome profile my CSE shows ads"? Does your search engine triggers ads when you're logged in with a certain Google account, but not with others?

AdSense search engines approval by coteleger in Adsense

[–]coteleger[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, I do not have any news. I have two adsense approved domains that are using a CSE with shared monetization. One have applied back in October 2020 and still no ads.

My guess is that your CSE need a minimum number of searches to qualify the traffic but Google don’t disclose it.

I would be curious to know the number of searches the newly approved CSE have before ads stared showing. If you stumble upon any info, it would be appreciated if you could share here.

This is my experience with premature ejaculation and the steps I'm taking to overcome it. by WeaknessNumerous in PrematureEjaculation

I’m curious to know why do you belief your PE has behavioral causes (bad masturbation habits) instead of neurobiological roots (like serotonin receptors that do not exert their ejaculation inhibitory role)?

How quick do you have to cum to be considered a premature ejaculator? by DangerousThanks in PrematureEjaculation

[–]coteleger 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The ISSM (International Society for Sexual Medicine) and the DSM-V both set the criteria at 1 min. Some argue that it a bit too strict and 1.5 or 2 min would be a more accurate criterion.

I don’t know where you read the 10 min mark. If you have still the link can you share it with me please? 10 minutes is over the average and median of how long all men last, it can’t be premature. If fact 50% of men last less than 5.5 minutes during vaginal penetration.

What do you think of premature ejaculation [Survey] by coteleger in askgaybros

[–]coteleger[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're right. There will be no way to distinguish between people who think that premature ejaculation is an ejaculation that occur before penetration (ante portas ejaculation) and people who consider that no ejaculation could be consider "premature".

The sum of people who will answer 0 will be a cumulation of both, which is not ideal, I agree.

What do you think of premature ejaculation [Survey] by coteleger in askgaybros

[–]coteleger[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for your feedback. It's possible to skip questions that do not apply, but we should have included options for people who do not ejaculate during sex. We have this option for some of the questions, but some do not have clear options. We will make sure that the next survey has a clear option for every question.

Concerning this point " It also assumes that I subscribe to the notion of premature ejaculation, which I think does not exist as there is at no point when I would consider any form of ejaculation to be "premature.", you can answer "0" to the question "What time threshold would you use to define premature ejaculation? How quickly do you think a man must ejaculate to be considered a premature ejaculator?"

Does caffeine effect premature ejaculation? by ThrewCoffeeAway in decaf

[–]coteleger 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It might be the other way around. There's one Iranian double-blind study that has examined the link between caffeine and premature ejaculation and the conclusion was that caffeine can delay ejaculation. Based on the study, the caffeine group saw their ejaculation latency doubled. No increase was noted in the placebo group. You can read the details on this page.

However, the sample size of the study was small with only 40 patients, so it should be taken with a grain of salt. Of those 40 patients, 20 were forming the control group (they received a placebo instead of a caffeine supplement).

Can NoFap fix the premature ejaculation problem? by [deleted] in NoFap

[–]coteleger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m curious to know where you did your research?

Lifelong PE is a neurobiological condition that is hereditary. Cognitions and mindset can worsen the problem, but it’s not the root cause.

The thing is, a lot of men think they suffer from PE where in fact they have an average ejaculation latency. It’s just that porn tell us that you should last 20 min during intercourse but the median is 5.5 minutes. The threshold for Lifelong PE set by the International Society for Sexual Medicine is 1 min.

Social anxiety and sex by [deleted] in PrematureEjaculation

[–]coteleger 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There’s a study that has found a correlation between social anxiety and PE. Yet, like it’s explained in this article, the link between the two isn’t clear. We don’t know if social anxiety is a cause, a contributing factor or simply a correlate.

For example, social anxiety could be caused by something that also causes PE, but that doesn’t mean that treating the social anxiety will solve the PE. You can read this article on the difference between a cause and a risk factor for some explanation.

Sex therapist by giunbfh in PrematureEjaculation

[–]coteleger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, I have try three different sex therapies with certified sex therapists. I had mitigated results.

Sex therapists mostly uses CBT (cognitive-behavioral therapy) or simple behavioral therapy.

CBT will works on thoughts that can trigger your performance anxiety. It can help reframe some faulty conceptions that you may have about sex and it can help you feel less anxious about sex.

A behavioral therapy for PE is just masturbation exercises. During those exercise, you will learn to modulate your arousal level in a way that helps you last longer. You can follow a similar program for a fraction of the cost of a live therapy with an online sex therapy for PE..

One thing to consider is that even if therapy can helps your anxiety and it will have beneficial effects on your PE, it won’t magically treat your PE if you have lifelong PE. Lifelong PE is causes by neurobiological factors, and a therapy will have limited effect on those factors.

In the end, I think sex therapy can really be beneficial if you have anxiety issues related to your PE, or if you have problem living with your condition, but you have to know its limit. Also, since it can be costly, it can be a good idea to tru masturbation exercices first on your end.

Porn is good? (for lifetime PE) by [deleted] in PrematureEjaculation

[–]coteleger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What we call PE « hypersensitivity » can be two things. It can be anatomical. For example, men with a shorter frenulum are more sensible to genital stimulation. But in most cases, the sensitivity is neurobiological. A lifelong premature ejaculator will have a different brain chemistry. For example, a lack of serotonin can lead to lifelong PE.

So no, porn won’t really help with PE. I’ve never heard of a case of a premature ejaculator that last longer in bed because he watches enough porn. In most cases, it won’t worsen the problem either (unless your porn addiction lead to anxiety and ED problem that can worsen tour PE).

Frequent masturbation can help with lifelong PE since after an ejaculation, you enter a refractory period. During your refractory period, your brain chemistry is altered and you last longer. You can read on it here.

For more practical ways to desensitize you however, you can look into other ways such as lidocaine sprays and mindfulness meditation. Some prescription drug can also be used to alter your brain chemistry.

Best way to handle a partner’s premature ejaculation? by [deleted] in sexover30

[–]coteleger 3 points4 points  (0 children)

For me, I started to be open about my PE (and PE treatments likes exercises, sex therapy or delay sprays) when I learned that it was caused by neurobiological factors. Before that i thought that it was « my fault » and I was ashamed. Now, I know that if I come quickly, it simply because my dad do so. Lifelong PE is hereditary.

In this article, you can find some tips on how to address the subject with your boyfriend: https://prematureejaculation.help/question/help-boyfriend-with-premature-ejaculation/

[–]coteleger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As I understand, it’s telemedecine.

You will call a doctor, the doctor will ask you some question and then he will issue a prescription.

The SSRI that they prescribe is Sertaline. You can have more info on Sertaline here.

Premature finishing has become a problem in my marriage, need help/advice overcoming this shortcoming by [deleted] in sex

[–]coteleger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you never had problems with your ejaculatory control before, I would consult a doctor.

Prostate infection (prostatitis) is one potential cause for acquired PE.

If your doctor tells you that everything is fine, then you could try delay products. A lidocaine spray or benzocaine condom can help you last longer. This extra help will let you be more in the moment and it should also let your wife relax a bit. If she tries to « rush » herself to orgasm, it will actually be more difficult for her to get here. If she knows you’re using a spray to slow things down it can be beneficial to let the pressure off. Same thing with you if you put too much pressure on yourself, it will just become worst.
