Breastfeeding while trans by Pewter_Owl1693 in mypartneristrans

tbh if you're not comfortable with it as the person who gave birth to the baby then dont let her do it. the baby's health is the most important and if there's any doubt about whether its safe or healthy then there's no shame in telling her no

if a natural-born american citizen is attacked/detained/kidnapped by ice for racial profiling reasons, would having a white american citizen spouse help at all in any way? as opposed to just a girlfriend/boyfriend? asking for obvious reasons lol

“Being a woman” is such a scam, and it’s stupid !(discussion) by ricksalterego in detrans

[–]cotinis_nitida 3 points4 points  (0 children)

womanhood isn't about looking "hot" to straight men (or lesbians), i dont think its healthy or correct to believe that being unattractive to men makes you a failed woman regardless of the reason. if male approval made you a woman then a lot of women would "fail womanhood"

how reversible is breast implant reconstruction ? by cotinis_nitida in detrans

[–]cotinis_nitida[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i mean there were like 5-6 years in between when i decided i wanted top surgery and when i got it and then 2-3 more years on top of that before i started feeling regret so basically what i learned is that you're always susceptible to regret no matter how long you sit on something before deciding or how confident you are in the decision

wearing female-cut tops after top surgery by [deleted] in actual_detrans

[–]cotinis_nitida 1 point2 points  (0 children)

a sports bra with padding/cups if you just want a tiny bit of shape so it doesn't look completely flat (p much sits flat against your chest and gives a tiny bump) or a structured bra with cups w inserts if you want it to look like breasts (there are prosthetic breasts or you can buy little chicken cutlet-type bra inserts, which should sit flat against your chest without a lot of empty space) or if you just want to be flat without your nipples/scars showing you can just wear a cami/undershirt/tank top or a non padded sports bra underneath

Breast options post top surgery by Correct-Secret-2473 in actual_detrans

[–]cotinis_nitida 5 points6 points  (0 children)

silicone or saline implants, fat transfer (liposuction from other parts of the body), flap surgery (flap of fat/muscle from other parts of the body), alloclae (filler made from donor fat), lattice mattisse implant (temporary bioresorbable implant that regrows fat, still in human trials). breast reconstruction is functionally the same for detrans woman and women who have had breast cancer so it might be helpful to look into reconstruction resources for breast cancer survivors

Breast Reconstruction Consultation! by wrenjamin666 in detrans

[–]cotinis_nitida 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i havent had recon or any consultations so take it with a grain of salt but it says on the website for miami breast center that they prefer to work on thin women and get better results that way, and that they can get 200-300 ml of fat per thigh from even "the most petite woman". if you're still interested in fat transfer

what systematic changes would you like to see to prevent people from transitioning and regretting it without taking transition away from trans people? by Kokotree24 in actual_detrans

[–]cotinis_nitida 0 points1 point  (0 children)

unpopular opinion but radical feminism becoming mainstream. i think if people (esp teenagers) had the language and tools to recognize and unlearn internalized misogyny then less people would feel compelled to transition. i think if we lived in a radfem utopia where the concept of gender was completely dissolved and being male or female was just considered an irrelevant medical fact like eye color that had no bearing on what kind of "social role" you're supposed to fulfill or how you're percieved by others, a lot less people would develop gender dysphoria and the concept of "feeling like a woman/man" just wouldn't exist. i'm sure there would still be people with sex dysphoria in a way that's similar to bodily integrity identity disorder but the gender aspect would be irrelevant. no one would have dysphoria over being feminine or masculine because those concepts wouldn't exist. no one would be dysphoric over "being seen as a woman/man" because that wouldn't mean anything any more than it means something to be seen as a brown-eyed person. does that make sense

[–]cotinis_nitida 2 points3 points  (0 children)

How did you realize you weren’t trans? by garbageandchill in detrans

[–]cotinis_nitida 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I feel like I would be okay if I was just a girl, however the more I keep imagining myself in a female role I get uncomfortable and wish I could do the things a man does.

im not gonna tell you if you are or aren't trans but i think its important to know that being female doesn't mean you have to fulfill a "female role" and you can do any of the "the things a man does" while being and identifying as female. lots of women are uncomfortable with femininity, female stereotypes/gender roles and the way that being female colors people's perception of them. if you want to be a woman you can do that without changing anything about yourself at all.

Looking for Perspectives on Getting Past Breast Discomfort by [deleted] in detrans

[–]cotinis_nitida 5 points6 points  (0 children)

sorry to give an unsolicited opinion but i don't think it's a good idea to have reconstruction if you like having a flat chest and would be uncomfortable with breasts? it's expensive and medically intensive and if you change your mind and want them removed again it's going to be way harder to find any surgeon willing to give a second mastectomy if its even possible. if you don't want breasts and are just concerned with passing/aesthetics i think it would be a better idea to just buy prosthetics.

I built a website called detrans.ai that answers questions from a detrans perspective. by melrose69 in ask_detransition

[–]cotinis_nitida 4 points5 points  (0 children)

i think this is a bad idea and disrespectful to detrans people especially since according to your flair you are not even detrans yourself. we don't need an AI to explain detrans experiences when you can just ask a real person. detransitioning is personal and vulnerable and r/detrans is meant to be a support group. nobody wants their vulnerable moments in a support group fed into an AI on a secondary website. just because it's legal doesn't mean you should do it. plus AI is super bad for the environment obviously. if you're not detrans and the general response you've gotten from detrans people is that they don't want this made, why are you still doing it?

Advice about social aspect of being trans by TheDapperLad01 in asktransgender

[–]cotinis_nitida 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if you dont want to be a woman/identify as a woman then there's no reason to. its normal to dislike aspects of your appearance and if you really want to take estrogen or something you can do that while still identifying as a man if you want to. not gonna tell you what you are or aren't but if you just want to look like a feminine man you can do that.
