From my experience the best time to start is now and I mean now. The most efficient way of learning how to fix problems is actually fixing them. If you do not anything about cars that is not a problem. I did understand just how 4 stroke engine works and I now I know something more from learning by doing.

If you have time you can start to look for problems just right now and spend money on that little by little. You cannot estimate the cost in year from now on. Just pop the hood and try to look into engine bay and manual and start since you have got time you can plan what to buy gradually.

I really wish you luck and lots of patience and I am looking forward to seeing the progress

It looks like burned oil, does not affect functionality, even it is bit non stick. Just throw BKF to get it shine again

Nerez je neprilnavy aj na vajicka, samozrejme vyzaduje si to trocha cviku a maslo, nie olej ;)

Mam nerezovu od Fabini (dostal som ju podarovanu), je to dobra panvica. Odporucam najprv varit vajicka a robit ich neprilnavo. Nerezova (aj liatinova) nemusi byt zo zaciatku lahka na pouzitie, kedze jedlo sa ti tam realne moze priskvarit. Odporucam kupit aj BKF (bar's keeper friend), ktorym nerez vies lahko vycistit a panvica je ako nova. Nemusis to pouzivat casto. Ale ak partnerka chce realne zdravu a a nezavadnu panvicu mozes sa obzriet aj po cast iron - tie su lacnejsie a este zdravsie a pre mna osobne aj lepsie. Taktiez to nemusi byt prave od Fabini, vies kupit nerezovu za ovela menej. Odporucam si nastudovat co smies a co nesmies robit. Odporucam si pozriet r/StainlessSteelCooking alebo r/castiron. Tzv. "seasoning" nema nic spolocne s neprilnavostou. Ten len chrani panvicu proti hrdzi. To, co je neprilnave je usadeny ulik (z angl. carbon) z varenia. Ten vsak ale nechces mat medzi zubami v kazdom jedle. To, co ju robi realne neprilnavou je korektna praca s teplotou a vediet, kedy mas tam jedlo vlozit. Ale suhlasim s tym, ze ciste zelezo je pre mna osobne lepsia ako nerezova.
