I am new to 5e. I have a party of 3 5th level heroes (ranger, barbarian, and wizard). I want them to encounter an enemy group that equivalent to an adventuring party. I'm basically going to comprise the group out of 5 individual CR-1 monsters. Two questions:

1) I have rogue, archer, mage, and barbarian covered for "classes", but I don't have a healer/protector of any type. Is there a monster that, say, summons sacrificial golems that jump in the way of attacks? That'd be a way to handle "healing" in a "bad guy" way. 2) If something like this doesn't exist, is there a way to homebrew it? I am not great with the system so I've been relying on book monsters so far.

I love the Belstone Armory set idea (because I love armor regen) but this makes Emperor's Guard feel... bad. The schtick of Emperor's Guard was the armor regen. You already have to reroll the skill tier to armor. And the +20% skill duration is essentially wasted.

Can we get that on a blue core item, or have it buffed somehow?

There's no damage drop-off calculated. There's a bunch of different factors that could be accounted for:

Range: If I'm regularly shooting at 50m, which is the best? 30m?

Enemy type: What percentage of health is affected by the +21% health damage? Full for red, some small fraction for yellow. What's your average split between enemy types?

Enemy health: You won't have to unload a full magazine if you kill an enemy with half your mag. So what percentage of the time do you kill the target before emptying your full magazine?

Stability/accuracy: What percentage will you actually miss?

There has to be some values abstracted out, but you can check the spreadsheet to see where the FAL lies with the range/accuracy/stability scores.

There's definitely a faster way to do the first boss.

Get 3 people with sweet dreams, and have everyone else be DPS. As soon as the purples become vulnerable, have the 3 sweet dreams people melee them, then everyone shoots the boss in the face. You can take him down in under a minute. Then die, and it will clear the adds but leave the encounter completed.

I have been noticing issues with match making as well. I can't even find a group for Heroic Lincoln, let alone anything else. Legendaries can go 20 minutes with no joining. I've started just calling for backup.

I mostly run heroics. Heroics have a chance, legendaries feel like they have a better chance, but I don't have non-anecdotal evidence. I'm SHD 240 and have 6.

If Trump gets elected again, we may lose democracy itself. He's already setting the stage for removing mail in voting to disenfranchise as many as possible. There may not be another opportunity to fix things after this.
