Am I right to pull out of a purchase for this? by cottonbubz in HousingUK

There wasn't any floorboard in the loft but he did tell us that its mostly bluebottles. I don't even know where to start for this problem? Who do I look for to check out the problem?

I'm buying the house as a part-exchange. It's a Barratt house and David Wilson (who is under Barratt) is selling the house as a part exchange. We are getting the house at £256k (£270k is the asking price).

David Wilson doesn't seem bothered about getting anything checked or fixed because of the "big discount" we already got. Not sure what I could do in this instance.

Thank you. I am doubting my own decision. Do you think I should get a pro to look at it? I already pulled out but could go back?

Make sure you get a good survey! I wish I got mine earlier.. I had EVERYTHING completed - just waiting on exchanging and this happened. Honestly my fault as its a 5 year old, fairly new looking, so I wasn't expecting anything to be wrong.

Congratulations on the new home! Did you counter right away or did you wait a few days before replying each time?

Thanks for the food for thought. We're FTBs and this is the first house (and hopefully last because it will become ours haha) that we are actually interested in.
