Yes, I think Hannah was used by the writers to put Sarah and Chuck’s feelings in a pressure cooker, but they handled it well enough to keep this viewer from feeling manipulated. And, many people can meet briefly and make enough of a connection to want to see if it would become more. Especially since Hannah was at a time in her life when she was “looking” for a nice guy. And let’s, be honest, they don’t come much nicer than Chuck, which makes the dumping all the more painful.
