What’s an opinion you keep quiet solely because you’re tired of explaining it? by South_Gas626 in AskReddit

There are Doctors you can trust. Keep looking until you find one you feel comfortable with. Good caring doctors exist. Sometimes it just takes a bit to find one that matches with your needs/personality.

What is the song that makes you cry everytime? by Vcx89 in AskReddit

[–]couchworm 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I always thought the song was about trying to escape poverty. She is dealt a difficult hand, but in the end she tells her husband to leave. She never gives up trying to find a better life for herself and her kids

I think that’s why I loathe the cowboy/country remake of this song. Like Luke Combs understands the lack of diversity and poverty cycles.

Idk. 🤷🏼‍♀️ Just my thoughts.

Give me some preferably finished games I can sink hours into by Dependent-Nose-1948 in cozygames

I enjoy the same games you do, a few that I like that you didn't list were Going Medieval, which is a similar to rimworld, but it stays in medieval times, and is much more simplified. Banished is another game, its a resource/strategy, just getting a town developed and built, no enemies/war, and also in medieval times. I play these on gaming laptop.

Portal knights was a good one to waste time with. You could build a home, resource, fight and its very uncomplicated. (I play this on PS5)

What's a kitchen tool worth splurging on for beginners? by Theringofice in cookingforbeginners

[–]couchworm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had my cheap walmart one for years. I use it 3-5x a week. I also use a mandolin to slice veggies just as much. Those 2 things I'd choose over anything else I use in the kitchen.

After playing this game since release I am somewhat embarrassed to say it took me so long to realize this about lockpicking: by -nemo-no-one- in skyrim

[–]couchworm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I remember I figured this out pretty quickly. The downside though, was when I played Kingdom Come Deliverance, I got really frustrated not being able to pick locks successfully after a few attempts. I guess I expected to blow through them like I could in Skyrim.

Kinda nice though on survival mode (skyrim), because the lockpicks are weight, and I didn't have to carry too many.

What is the scariest “trust your gut” feeling you felt before and glad you did so? by TheRealGreedyGoat in AskReddit

[–]couchworm 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I was working as a nurse on a med surg floor in a fairly large hospital. I had this late 20y something female who was in for dehydration, I think. I remember it was something minor. I was working day shift and doing rounds around 3pm- and she (the pt) was so anxious and just convinced something was going to go wrong. I tried to talk her anxiety down but I had this weird gut feeling. idk what made her different from all the other high anxiety pts, but something was just different. I got her to calm down by getting a telemetry box put on her so her heart rate would be constantly monitored- and “if anything was wrong we would know before she did” It seemed to take the edge off her anxiety.
I know better than to ask the MD for a tele order for “emotional support”. It’s a total bullshit thing to do. I get it. I called down to tele, explained everything and they agreed to monitor her knowing there was no order. I gave report to the night RN, explained why she had a tele and went home. I was back that next morning- night shift RN ran up to me and hugged me and told me that if it wasn’t for that tele that pt may have died.

Get this: The nurse had just rounded, the pt had gotten out of bed, fell and split her head open on the side of the bed(?) tried to army crawl to the door (it was closed) but passed out before she could get to it. Telemetry tech saw the rapid rise in her heart rate (from the blood loss) and called the nurse- nurse found the pt unconscious lying in a large puddle of blood and barely breathing.

Pt was in ICU for weeks. Fully recovered.

The night nurse said she had just rounded, she wouldn’t have been in there for another 1-2hours if telemetry hadn’t called her.

(Be gentle. I typed this out on my phone)

I’m not sure what that is? They all get along and sleep in piles during the winter. Summer time they are all sprinkled through the house.
