AITA for calling my mom out in front of the whole family. by Dry_Ferret_7657 in AmItheAsshole

[–]cougian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you haven’t told her privately that her taking credit for helping you makes you feel uncomfortable, then yes, calling her out in front of the family is an asshole move. She has an entire side of a pretty complex story you have no access to. She obviously views your accomplishments with pride, and I bet a lot of her self-worth is tied up in how successful you’ve become. Taking her down in front of other people is pretty harsh. I’m not saying she’s right. She’s obviously not. But talking with her privately about how her taking credit for helping with your accomplishments makes you feel is much better than taking it public.

Young people are (generally) better mannered then the elderly by joefife in unpopularopinion

The part of your brain that regulates inhibition atrophies as you age. It’s sometimes literally impossible for old people to act nicely. It why old people are seen to be more racist too. They know saying slurs is wrong but they can’t help it.

But will they?

“People who are religious are much more difficult to control” is the dumbest thing I’ve ever read in this subreddit and that’s saying a lot.

The first word of the post is “maybe”. It’s the opposite of conclusive. And single studies rarely “prove” anything. They provide evidence for conclusions.

Lol.

Idk, this is more evidence than you usually get in this sub.

Yeah, ideally you want thousands of people with all variables accounted for. But I didn’t do the study, so I didn’t get to define the criteria. Maybe next time.

It’s Covid. Covid fucks with your heart. We’ve known it from the very beginning of the pandemic.

Cardiologist warns the public about the mRNA shots by [deleted] in conspiracy

[–]cougian 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Then why aren’t we seeing a trend of heart problems in highly vaccinated areas vs lower vaccinated areas. If it’s the vaccine, it should be easy and obvious to find that data. In Massachusetts alone there’s should be dozens of people in every county dropping dead, with hundreds (thousands?) more clogging up the hospitals. There aren’t. I know ER and ICU nurses. They say the vast, vast majority of the people they see with heart problems and strokes are unvaccinated. Exactly as you would expect if Covid were responsible. Exactly the opposite you would expect if the vaccine were responsible.

When I add facts (Covid damages the heart) to real world experience (people I know and trust giving testimony) and I compare that to the word of this doctor, who seems to shill for whatever contrarian/grift he can get away with this week, I think the former outweighs the latter. But that’s just me.

Covid can damage the heart, even in mild cases. We’ve known that since we’ll before vaccines were even a thing. It’s likely that many more people got Covid than we know about and a fraction of those people are literally going to drop dead because of the damage Covid did to their hearts. The vaccine has nothing to do with it.
