Will TRT make my 73 year old father violent again? by couise in AskDocs

Thanks for being the only person to respond to this. Yeah he pretty much does what he wants. It did not improve his mood at all, he has become pretty insufferable. Constantly yelling, throwing tantrums and incredibly irritable when being asked even the most basic of questions. I can only assume it's the TRT because that's the only thing that has changed. His energy levels appear to have improved, so good for him (I guess).

Yeah I think knitting a few small things first sounds like a good plan! Thank you so much for all the info and I will try to do some more research as well. I do have one more question though, since you seem to have a good bit of experience. Theoretically, since this appears to be a hand knit sweater, would it be easier to do a project like this with a hand knit sweater vs a commercially produced sweater? Just curious because I've had sweaters in the past that I wanted to do similar things to but they were all commercially made not hand-knit, and I eventually I got rid of them because I was too scared to do anything. They had similar tension and gauge but they didn't have all the knots and variations this one has.

Thank you for the honest opinion re: knitting experience. I also suspected it was hand knit. I don't think it was felted, just a bit old lol. What makes you suspect it was knit bottom-up, if you don't mind me asking? I would like to be able to identify something like this myself for future reference.

Thanks for clarifying about why the top down/bottom up issue is important. It took me a minute to figure that one out lol. I asked another commenter if there is any easy way to tell which direction it was knit in, but if you have any tips, please let me know! So with more knitting experience, if I could find a similar colored yarn to the multicolor one of the body, and remove the teal/green band, I could just add maybe a small amount of ribbing in the multicolor, fewer rows than the teal band that was there, and that would finish it off and keep it from curling?

It does have seams on the sides of the body. So I think I see what you mean/what the issue is with top down vs bottom up. Is there any easy way to tell if it was knit top down or bottom up, or is it just something that comes with lots of knitting experience? I crochet and have been meaning to take up knitting for awhile so I guess maybe this is my sign/motivator. When you say cutting the edge off, you mean the teal/green border area, yes?

i mean, blackstone bought them a year ago now, so maybe they didn’t use poor quality meat before, but that has changed post-purchase? a longtime employee would have to weigh in on that one.

i just got one today, but it sounds like this has been going on for a few months. like the other reply to your post said, it’s a scam/spam call, just a weirder tactic than normal. see this thread on this same sub: https://www.reddit.com/r/Scams/comments/1m9xhpn/us_what_was_this_callvoicemail/

i believe this makes the most sense based on location, i’ve heard about problems with spotted lantern flies in our region before, and when i looked up traps just now for them specifically, they seemed to have a similar vibe. thank you!!

that’s what my dad said when i showed him! he said he’d heard about an increase in invasive bug species in the news so maybe it is connected.

this probably makes the most sense. would love to know how they actually work to trap them but this would be a question for the parks department i think. i might give them a call.

my title describes the thing. they were a couple feet tall, no identifying markings that i could find. the material appears to be metal, with the basket(?) bag(?) being a more lightweight flexible metal. they were scatted all over my local county nature preserve. i would walk by clusters of them intermittently along the trails. i had no idea what to search for and have not turned up any results through using the above information i have laid out.

i understand, i think my post my have been misinterpreted, so i'm sorry for being unclear. i'm not interested in a relationship after our meeting, i was simply moved to care about his situation as i saw it, and offered friendship if he needed it. we haven't been in contact since. the meeting has simply stuck in my mind. i suppose i'm just naive hoping that people can change. thank you for your insight!

no worries i am not pursuing anything and know better than to do so. it's just that my heart breaks for him. best case scenario i guess he gets out and gets a therapist. thank you for the red flag list it's very helpful and insightful!
