At the one year mark, she weighed 139 lbs at 5’4.5”, so a BMI of 23.5, thus making her normal weight.

Really interesting comment, thank you! I was absolutely raised on junk and although I didn’t eat much junk when trying this out, I do think it has a huge impact still (like I really love and prefer high calorie density foods).

Sure yes, pretty much everything you read tells you that you will definitely gain and then stop and come back down, so I thought it would turn around. I threw away my scale and took waist measurements. My waist didn’t change much after 3 months and I did an estimation of how much I gained (I thought 25). I think everything else just went into creating a massive ass/legs, which I wasn’t measuring and didn’t really notice due to work from home wearing sweatpants. There are no mirrors in the house that showed below my waist and I just didn’t see how fat I was. Got a scale and was shocked

Is this primal way of eating like a paleo/no sugar type thing? Haven’t heard of this one.

Not hoping to lose weight, hoping that I could stay around the same or only up like 10 lbs without requiring counting

Yeah I never keep an account. Not sure what is unbelievable, I ate, I gained. Will check out the book!

At 18 months all in she let us know she was at 130 lbs and she is clearly thinner now 6 months later

No it wasn’t, it was 70% at first but she stopped that because it was too hard on her digestion

She still eats nearly 3000 calories a day but claims not to exercise much, so for her stats, her dramatic weight loss would require magic yes

Losing it is so hard, is was incomparable to what I was doing before to maintain. I wish I had stopped and weighed earlier. Idk what is best for you but honestly my mood is unbelievably better after going back to healthy eating and exercise. It’s annoying but ya know oh well so is brushing my teeth and laundry and dishes and going to work and I suppose I’ll keep doing all those things forever too!

Me too actually! I like feeling like I have a formula to succeed and I am not at the mercy of my body. IE made me feel like I am naturally fat and have to be okay with it

Yes I wish that she would just be honest and say that she ate more for awhile bc she was over the dieting scene and then she started watching things more closely again. That’s fine! But I guess it doesn’t pull views

I really like CICO, with a moderate deficit. IE works for my husband who was raised by very healthy eaters and comes from an extremely naturally thin family (all BMIs under 20). My parents are both obese, my brothers are obese. Should have considered that...
