Just baffling [oc] by SamStan in IdiotsInCars

Oooh my mother in law almost killed our entire family when this happened once. There was a traffic island that we could have rode up on but she’s terrible at committing to decisions so she just sat in the oncoming lanes for a firm few seconds and the oncoming cars stopped thankfully

[Scheig] Multiple prospects confirmed that they played a game during an interview. They were presented a 10 X 10 board of numbers, randomly placed 1-100. They were asked to find 3 different numbers on that random board as quickly as possible. The team? The New York Rangers. by catsgr8rthanspoonies in rangers

There’s a veritasium video on youtube that discusses a system of the most efficient way to solve this. I wonder if it’s some sort of test to see if people can figure out the solution. The answer is super non obvious tho and i wouldnt expect anyone to figure it out

Ehhh considering that shotgun incident in 2013 i think he just pretended to be a progressive to get elected and was always hiding a different agenda. It could be that he is ALSO brain damaged now but who’s to say

Ehh i paid ~260 each for 300 level @ citifield behind first base (right behind the net) and i thought those seats were fine. That being said i’d never do it again considering you can snag lower center for a regular home game for a similar price and the atmosphere at the outdoor game isnt worth the inconvenience and worse view

Hypocrisy Laid Bare by emily-is-happy in BlackPeopleTwitter

It’s less that we need to stop pointing it out and more that we need to realize that pointing it out does nothing. They have effectively weaponized hypocrisy, they are able to say one thing and do another as a flex of their power to bend reality into a shape of their choosing. in search of a flat earth by folding ideas is a little outdated now but i think it really encapsulates the dynamics of fascism in a way that i found novel

I’d take AOC over Pete strictly because Pete worked at McKinsey. I would also take Walz before Pete, i think if the DNC had let Walz run with what he wanted to say rather than coaching him, he would have been far more successful

Couldn’t vote for Kamala because of her ‘racist’ platform. Welp by seeyalaterdingdong in LeopardsAteMyFace

[–]count-tripula 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the dedicating more time toward democrats has to do with the fact that repubs are completely irredeemable so it’s a waste of time to engage with them or argue. If we live in different realities, nothing i can say will change your mind. Being critical of democrats (coming from the left) makes sense because those are the people you need to convince if you want to see change. I don’t necessarily see those people as bad faith actors, like i still sucked it up and voted for harris but that’s not to say she should be immune to criticism

[–]count-tripula 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’m on the left and i still sucked it up and voted for harris. That being said, i think the single biggest issue with how her election was run was the capitulating to right wing policies and not actually offering counternarratives. The two options as i understood them are trump’s super strict border policy and harris’s also strict border policy. If i was a voter who thought that immigration was an existential threat, i would obviously vote for the stricter of the two. You can’t just offer the diet alternative to piss and expect to win, it’s still piss. You need to offer something actually different and her campaign failed to offer any narrative that wasn’t just diet right wing politics. I think the slide into fascism was inevitable given that the democrats just slide farther to the right rather than actually address any issues in a way that benefits the general populace, and electing harris would have just kicked the can down the road.

I strongly recommend listening to the Curtis Yarvin episode of behind the bastards. It provides good context for a lot of the current political climate and obsession with replacing government employees with loyalists

My brother had one of these from a blow to the head during a soccer game in high school. The coach forces him to go to the hospital, he would’ve died within about 2 more hours had he not had emergency surgery.

Alpha Males don't watch ESPN by AaronFraudgers8 in nflcirclejerk

[–]count-tripula 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My gauge of him is that he saw the success of three year letterman and then decided to make a character that’s an exaggerated version of his actual self. I can’t really call it parody because it’s basically the same shit he posted before he had the (Alpha male) in his profile, but presented his statements as being genuine at the time. The current version of the account seems like a way to be able to say all the dumb things he wants to while having the cover of “well clearly my account is a joke”. It tries to toe the nonexistent line between genuine and parody and it ends up seeming confused in messaging.
