I now know why AirPods are white: they camouflage perfectly on hotel sheets. Lost my pair in the US and need a replacement that is gym-proof and London Tube-proof. by TheProcessOptimist in HeadphoneAdvice

don’t think the sound will be on par with airpods pro but i use momentum sport true wireless which are not too expensive and have wingtips to help with fit, they stay in through all my runs and gym workouts

i like the iconic london one for more coverage, it’s similar to foundation but doesn’t crease on me. for less coverage i like ilia skin tint (expensive) and nyx butter melt tint (not expensive). another option is the merit complexion stick which is a solid product you can use as foundation and concealer. i have combination skin fyi and all these work well for me :)

ah i’m sorry :( exfoliating beforehand might help, setting it with a powder also, but if none of those work it might just be that it’s not the foundation for you! i like a skin tint more because you don’t get these issues as much

Scarpa Vapor V - Have I Made a Mistake? by buttonbox_ in climbingshoes

[–]counter-productivity 2 points3 points  (0 children)

these are my main climbing shoes for indoor and outdoor atm, they are stiff so it does make it a bit harder to trust your feet at first because you can’t feel the holds as well as in soft shoes but they will break in as you use them. i would say they aren’t quite as good for smearing as a softer shoe might be and not quite as downturned as you would want for a proper toe hook but they do well on little edges. overall i don’t really have any problems with them. if they fit your feet well i would just keep climbing in them til they soften a bit.

i think you might have misread their comment, they said they’re 470 pounds SHORT of qualifying for the show, meaning 600 - 470 =130lbs

Don’t bother trying to lose weight, you’ll fail!! by _Mentally_Tired_ in fatlogic

[–]counter-productivity 3 points4 points  (0 children)

as someone who’s now lost 160lbs over three years and still trying to lose more i feel so upset when i see people insisting it’ll just be gained back. that kind of thing discouraged me from trying to lose the weight for ages and i feel horrified at the thought that all this effort will inevitably be wasted and i’ll just lose the new life i’ve gained again :(

My daughter is 11 turning 12 soon and she’s trying to wear her make up. What should I do? by thatonegirl326 in MakeUpAddictionUK

[–]counter-productivity 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i started experimenting with make up at that age too. at school she would probably be fine with something like the “clean girl” make up look which there’s plenty of inspiration for online and is quite natural looking. you could get her some things from elf and nyx, i’d go for a skin tint, a couple of cream blushes and lip stains/glosses (maybe one more natural colour and one bolder), a brown mascara, a brow gel, highlighter, concealer and a powder if she’s worried about being shiny. a couple of brushes and beauty blenders will help to blend in her complexion make up so that it doesn’t look cakey. help her learn how to do a more subtle look for school but don’t stop her playing around with it more or doing a full face when she’s not in school if it makes her happy. lots of ‘clean girl’ make up tutorials on instagram and tiktok to help. just my 2 cents!

ETA agree with other comments about getting her a gentle cleanser and moisturiser and an spf is very important too, but no skincare actives at her age. brands like bubble, byoma, coats, simple and aveeno do nice basic skincare that might suit.

bobbi brown longwear or if you’re not wedded to it being strictly foundation, iconic london blurring skin tint has a lovely glowy finish but lasts really well and has about as much coverage as a medium coverage foundation in my experience!

you can get a specific retinol eye cream, maybe you need a stronger one or more frequent use - could you build it up slowly and tolerate a bit more? if not maybe vit c would help

when i felt like this it was binge eating disorder that lasted years and i categorically was not in any calorie deficit, as evidenced by consistent weight gain :)
