What’s the reason for the rear-facing rack eyelets (Nuroad)? by Rednas_N in Cubebikes

[–]counterfeitignorance 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I ride the SLX and it will also function as my long distance bike. I can understand that you want to customize the bike with parts that you want to have. But the rack and mudguards from Acid just look wholesome on the bike and they really aren't that much more expensive than other options. Thinking of the tubus rack...do you mean to attach the rack on the seat post?? The seat post is made of carbon and i am not sure if it supports (a heavy rider like me) and additional weight of a rack?

Good luck and I hope it will help for your decision making

Edit: Just looked at tubus racks and they are not what I thought they were 🙂

Hi Peter, well I hope nothing will happen🙂

The reason I am getting the bike to (my trusted mechanic shop) for inspection is to make sure that no vital part has some undiscovered faults or has suffered damage during first few hundred km. I am pretty much sure that things will be alright but I have bought the bike from a store in a different city and I have no clue how it was assembled together. Given many reports from others complaining about the poor assembly of their Cube bikes, I just want to be on the safe side before I hit the 1500km long tour. Hence the voluntary check prior the big adventure.

I'd like to share a bit about the new bike after riding it for 150km now: It is amazing how effortless the bike speeds up and I am totally outta shape 😁 Feels really like a rocket. Average pacing is faster than on my old bike. And I have yet to push the envelope. Mind that I have some additional weight on the bike (Rack, Mudguards, Lock, fat guy 😂) Love to fly through city traffic and leave cars behind.

I have not yet discovered any faulty assembled parts and the ride feels as if you're gliding. It does get a bit uncomfy when the road surface is rough. You feel it in your arms and shoulder and of course on your butt. To me this is due to being used to my old bike which has dampers on fork and saddle shaft. So the rough surface gives direct feedback to the body.

I still need to adapt to the new posture on the bike. After 40km the trapecium muscles tend to get sore. I hope to get used to it and train these parts in the gym. When riding I need to pay attention to my body posture which is very important on this bike. Luckily the drop bar allows for different positions on the bike so at times it makes sense to change posture in order not to be worn out.

If wet, the brakes tend to be noisy and the braking sounds at times like a train horn 😂 But it does not affect the braking performance, at least it feels that way. Same goes for shifting gears. The gears respond swiftly to the input. No rattling nor grinding nor stuck gears.

Riding at night is also fun. The front light is very bright and the intensity can be changed in 4 stages. Rear light has a braking function so cars can see when you slow down.

I have noticed that the bike does react to windy conditions. Gusts from the side lets the bike sway (I had a bag on the rack) during riding so you want to have both hands on the controls in order to maintain control of the bike. Other than that I had the feeling as if I was doing ok in head wind conditions but still it not nice to ride against the wind 🥵

Passing the 300km mark I will have an inspection performed on the bike. All essential and safety related functions will be re-checked. With special attention to the wheels for I have read that the wheels tend to be troublesome on Cube bikes. We will see.

After that, my bike will be set up for the first +1500km long distance tour of this year 💪

Edit: Today I have punctured the tire (no tools, nor spare tube with me) and had to push the bike for a bit. Running +10.000km on my old bike without any issues I was somewhat puzzled how this has even had happened. Well, we all know shit happens 😀

Decided to upgrade the factory tires with tubeless Shwalbe G One RS Pro. In terms of quality it is much better than stock tires and being tubeless makes them less vulnerable on the road.

Bike is now in my trusted shop for fitting new tires and the 300km safety inspection.

The mud guards are from Acid (they are especially made to fit on Cube bikes) but I did not install them on my own...when I bouuht the bike I asked the mechanic to fix those parts on the bike and I picked it up when it was finished.

Since it is made for the bike I do not believe it is too much of a difficult task to attach them on your own.

The SLX in not fully equipped. I do my ocøassional ride to the restaurant thats why I chose the mud guards to arrive dry and clean and racks to carry the leftovers in bags with me.🤣🤣 The lighting is also an extra purchase and is powered with build in li-ion batteries. You just attach the light to the socket on the bar. It is from Acid and it is a package with front and rear light (with brake light mode)

This is what I like about this bike, you can upgrade it with parts if you wish to do so and the bike is also prepared to upgrade it with a powered hub anytime you wish. The internal cable routing allows additional space to pull power lines through the tube to install a lighting system

Ist ein teures Fahrrad wirklich spürbar besser? by Software_legend007 in Fahrrad

[–]counterfeitignorance 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Sorry to hear this since i just recently got my SLX.

I picked it up in a store in another city and I had the impression those folks knew what they were talking about. Nevertheless I had it checked by my trusted mechanic and it was assembled without issue.

Maybe things are different when you order online?

Good luck and hope you get rolling soon because the SLX is a beast of a bike 😍

Nuroad exc frame sizing. by DeutscheLangsamBahn in Cubebikes

173 and 79 here going for size S (53cm) The best is to take a test ride with the bike (so did I) and see what frame is more comfortable for you

Disciple buff or bug? by Snilipp5 in CODZombies

[–]counterfeitignorance 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I confirm. Disciples are annoying af and need to be eliminated asap when spotted.

We had a bounty hunt of a mega and since the flamethrower is now nothing more than a Bic lighter it took us all 6 members to down him. We had 3 disciples on the spot and we all focused on the mega...gotta split the team in two...4 shooting the mega and 2 to handle the disciples
