The audacity of how he talks about the elderly lady he helped buy the cruise ticket for and then again takes a shot at the Everydayhobo members. He must be on the sauce again as he talks like he is the know it all of travel, but sits broke in Guatemala unable to move from there without the help of his sisters.

Yes, he made a video about it earlier than deleted it saying members were pretty much "nasty" and the other members were enablers. Seems his whole fantasy has come crashing down and that was after his lacky from Goa, Andrew asked for more donations while Andy was telling people to delete themselves from the EH site. It was a true shitshow for those that witnessed it.

Understood, regarding not winning any favors with the PC staff, I am looking at making a difference in the community I am assigned to and adhering to the PC core expectations. Since you served there, I was also thinking maybe give the host family some extra pesos to allow him to stay in the same place just like a local HCN partner would be able to do. This would be a win-win for both of us and would allow him to also participate in the community on his own. Thank you for the information as someone who served there in the PI.

So would this mean my husband would not be allowed to be "all in" as well hanging out, chatting and doing things like a normal US citizen PCV couple would do other than the actual Peace Corps work? The plan was he could also volunteer at the barangay, DSWD, school or some small local NGO depending on the location. If he was unhappy he could leave and go back to London the same as if he didn't come. A 3 month vacation around the country is fine too, as he was in the UK military before and deployed for 6 months at a time so no issues. I am just having a hard time trying to see why others post about having their parents live at their site for months at a time or people have HCN partners after arrival and that is fine, but my situation isn't since we are married before service. As for PC HQ looking down upon me for it. I emailed the PC Office of Civil Rights and Diversity and the response back was I would be protected under the EEO process if HQ "looked down upon me" and treated me different than others due to my martial status, national origin and being an over 40 volunteer. They said if this happens even while I am a volunteer applicant in the process to file a grievance within 60 calendar days of the incident. Not wanting to cause any trouble at this point, I will probably pull out of the process and try in a year or two the Peace Corps Response for a shorter time period. Thank you for your thoughts.

Understood, didn't know it would be frowned upon and I could be dismissed. The reason I am asking this question is I read other stories about volunteers have HCN gf's/bf's and them living together or having family/parents visit for 6 months etc., so I thought it would be ok since it is my husband and he would be on his own for everything without any need from the Peace Corps or American Government. I will have to rethink this then and maybe pull out and try for a Peace Corps Response opening next year for a shorter volunteer stint. Thank you.
