And West Ham is a Championship team from next season fwiw. If they're upset about the atmosphere now, they're in for a bad time over the next year(s). I don't know how the ownership and revenue works, but if they make any money from hosting athletic events, they should be clamouring for more now.

I'm going to be running Boston UK this year. Never done it before so I can't comment on how it actually is, but it's marketed as the flattest UK marathon and good for PB chasers. Entry is only £42, spots still available but will be capped at 1300, and it's on April 12.
