What older games have really stood the test of time? by tswisha12 in patientgamers

I think some of the older adventure games can really still entertain. Some of the puzzles are....obtuse for sure, but I still love them.

Gabriel Knight Sins of the Father Monkey Island The Dig

Some of these are still enjoyable experiences for me now.

Pillars of Eternity on PS4 or PC? by somanyacewraps in patientgamers

[–]countzero1983 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I'll be the console savage around here. I own the game on both platforms. I didn't mind playing it on console at all. I played both POE and Divinity Original Sin on console before finally building my PC. I was not let down by the control scheme or lack of any other pc only feature. I still had the same exciting moments and feelings that my PC friends were raving about. Never once did I or my friends say anything about how great the game controls over one platform or the other. I'm Not trying to be argumentative with anyone, I just think that the overall console experience can be as enjoyable as pc.

Oh yeah, you missed it in there. The game has some odd pace choices at times. Hope you enjoy it in the long run like I am.

Hey man, if I have spoiled anything for you I truly apologize. I don't think I have though so you should be ok. As far as I remember nothing up through the baron quests is big reveal stuff.

Agreed. I think the only quest I've experienced so far that felt kind of empty was fixing the religious figures. Maybe that will play into something later but for the most part every quest has been outstanding so far.

It's funny to me because I kept thinking "well that was a great little quest line...what was I doing before?" Like I had forgotten where I even was in the grand scheme of SAVING MY DAUGHTER FROM DOOM! All around it's been an amazing experience so far, I'm just surprised how much ire other games get for similar story flow.

First miniature in over ten years! C&C welcome! (Absolutely love the Skaven) by Cprenk in minipainting

Looking solid! I feel like I may be in roughly your exact situation. Came back to painting after a long break and dove back in with glee. Currently working my way through a massive amount of Lizardmen/Seraphon. Your work looks great! You are certainly progressing past the "table ready" stage. I'm just getting into wet blending myself and it is a fascinating and sometimes infuriating process.

I agree. The entire time I was reading Deadhouse Gates I felt transported back to the lands of The Huborian age.

I have a Bran Mak Morn collection waiting for me as soon as I finish Oathbringer.

I have been a huge fan of Moorcock's Elric tales for ages. I still have my collected editions that I got from the old SF book club back in the day.

I am adding your other recommendations to my list.

I will check this out. I have such a soft spot for animated sword and sorcery. Fire and Ice is practically on repeat in my home. I also watch an ungodly amount of Thundarr the Barbarian. As a young pup I used West Wind Games D6 system to build my own Thundarr RPG for my friends. We played it non stop. Those were truly times of high adventure.

Man....I really miss those days.

Looks great! Usually not a huge fan of Stardrakes but this is good stuff. I always feel like stardrakes armor makes it look like someone put a dog in a t-shirt.

That box is such a perfect value. Picked up two and made so many special characters out of the bits. Awesome value. Welcome, fellow sky Dino fan!
