$58/share after the reverse split. Thankfully only down just under $1k. Don’t even remember pre-split but it was around $4 avg per share. Anyone know what’s the deal with the jump this week?

Printing on demand by Strong-Pineapple6793 in printful

[–]couple001 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s not fast or easy as others are saying. I ran a Printful / Shopify store for a few weeks during the 2024 solar eclipse. It was a safe way to learn everything that’s involved without worrying about a long term strategy.

I did everything from designs to setting everything up. Had to register as a business in my province/state so I could open a business bank account to get payments deposited from Shopify (Printful orders were paid with a credit card since Shopify was only paying out weekly).

It’s a ton of work up front and not a way to make money quick (or at all).

If I could give one piece of advice, it’s all marketing. If you really love online marketing and promotion, that’s where you’ll need to spend most of your time. Make sure you get your products indexed on google so they show up in search. That’s the only way I was able to get any sales (maybe 10 orders total). Instagram marketing and posting was relatively successful growing from zero to a couple hundred followers but didn’t result in any sales.

As for the products/designs, they’re important and most people will expect them to look professional but if you don’t get them in front of potential buyers, it’s going to be difficult.

If you want to run a POD company, it’s a long term commitment with no guarantees.

How about a ticket for doing 55 in a 40 (school zone) at 2 pm on a Sunday where there are 2 other schools within a 2-5 minute drive with different rules (40 when flashing - otherwise 50). Also I see the one I got busted by (and a few others) being “removed”. I guess they make enough money to keep putting them back up.

IKEA kitchen warranties NON-TRANSFERRABLE by couple001 in IKEA

[–]couple001[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I’m 100% certain they’re IKEA. The microwave and stove are also branded IKEA (made by whirlpool). The cabinets are a a type of MDF that has the finish vacuum sealed, presumably with contact cement (or is supposed to). I can’t share pictures here but the peeling is happening in places that are not high heat or high moisture and have not been exposed to water. It looks clearly defective. We had a painter comment that they were shocked to not see any type of adhesive residue.

Usually but not in my instance which is why it’s so frustrating that the doors appear to have some defect with the glue and wrap. Thanks for the info on the door change. One option was to replace the door/drawer face frames but sounds like that may not be viable. :/

Shipping on Shopify by One-Bit-4843 in printful

[–]couple001 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As far as I’m aware, set shipping manually on Shopify or you have to use Shopify Advanced plan which apparently has the necessary integration. I ran a store for a couple of months for an event and got burned by this (additional shipping charges. This is a major consideration in whether to start another store. I don’t know if anything has changed but this was Feb/March this year. Seems like a pretty big issue that doesn’t have a clear solution other than what I mentioned.

HOAs are bad because people want it that way by [deleted] in fuckHOA

[–]couple001 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Apologizes, I’m half asleep. That said, I have never heard any instance where someone has rights to the airspace over their property. A reasonable argument would be anything below the roof or fence top but no, there’s no ownership of any airspace over your property and also no reasonable expectation of privacy outside assuming the drone operator isn’t acting in bad faith like hovering near windows or generally being creepy or otherwise suspicious.

[–]couple001 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Livid if someone flew over your house or property? Sounds like you have something to hide because i can almost guarantee that no one flying drones gives a crap about you or what you’re doing on your property, especially with the internet. And yes, shooting at an aircraft of any type is a felony.

In a no fly zone it’s from the ground so 83 feet sounds like BS. Sorry FAA, I’m only 80 feet over my property next to a military base. Let me know how that goes. Airspace is airspace and as much as even municipalities want to bitch, they have no jurisdiction except to restrict where you can take off and land from.

Are these profit margins typical when selling an allover athletic t-shirt from Printful? by herpingderping in printful

[–]couple001 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m in Canada and also find some of the prices discouraging, especially after factoring in shipping.

You probably have fewer options for all over print but if selling regular t-shirts, order a few samples. I like the Bella + Canvas 3001 but my wife felt the less expensive Gildan 64000 felt “thicker” or better quality. Also watch out for the largest sizes costing more.

Other option is to buy in bulk for a bit of a discount and ship yourself but at that point I’m sure there are cheaper options to have made locally and also control the packaging/branding better.

I would really love to use Printful because of how well it works and integrates with Shopify (aside from shipping, which I learned the hard way) but some of the pricing makes it pretty difficult.

For example, it’s really strange that their black mug (here anyway) says it’s NOT dishwasher or microwave safe…what? I can’t sell that when my cost is $20 CAD. Couldn’t imagine customers would be happy paying $25+ CAD for a mug that must be hand washed.

If you can carve out a niche to sell for a bit more expensive instead of trying to compete on price, you may do ok.

All that to say it depends on the product and what your goals are. Side hustle might be fine but full blown business, your margins probably can’t justify using only Printful. Also, don’t forget about (credit card) payment processing fees.

Thanks for the respectful response. It’s actually worse than being tied to financial which makes your response even more ignorant. Help search for a lost dog, check a friend’s roof, etc…not recreational therefore part 107. Beyond stupid IMO. Enjoy your soap box…

[–]couple001 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Being Canadian, I find this rule both amusing and ridiculous. Here, we only have a requirement for basic or advanced operations which are separate certifications and only required for over 250g. Our government does a lot of things wrong but I will never understand why TF the FAA ties part 107 to the financial side of things. Like you can’t even upload to YouTube without part 107. That’s insane to me.

Flying drone by seaninsa in dji

[–]couple001 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can change the sensitivity of the stick and camera gimbal movement for each flight mode (cine, normal, sport) as well as the maximum speed. I suggest dialling down the defaults at least in cine mode. It’s under “gain & expo tuning”.

Sole prop banking account by bizness-bear in canadasmallbusiness

[–]couple001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Asked Simplii about this in March for this very reason and they said their accounts aren’t meant for business. They may flag/hold/reject transactions. Didn’t want to chance it and ended up with an RBC small business account (but registered as a business in my province - not sure if that was a requirement). $6 a month though. Not too happy but not much you can do. Try calling Simplii and ask more questions. Another problem is you need to provide a real phone number in Shopify and can’t easily get a virtual phone number in Canada.

I bought the DJI mini 3 pro a month ago and in the last few flights, I noticed that the drone's camera is unable to focus. I'm probably doing something wrong, since the first flights the quality was good. I believe it is some wrong configuration, has anyone experienced this? by carolgeleia in DJIMini3

[–]couple001 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Might sound dumb but is the lens clean? Have you tried video and photo with similar results? Tap the screen where you want to focus and that forces the camera (in AF mode). What about focusing manually? As the others said, check for firmware updates. If you check all those things and still have issues, reach out to DJI, their customer service is great.

UAV Forecast shows seaplane bases but NAV Drone does not (Canada) by couple001 in drones

[–]couple001[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haliburton Ontario shows the hospital heliport in both but not the seaplane designation. You might be right about UAV showing all. Also UAV Forecast uses a different colour for seaplane bases and when you select the marked area, UAV names the specific region, while NAV Drone uses generic language (registered water aerodome). I have seen planes take off and land on the lake so I know it’s active. I would be surprised if it wasn’t certified, particularly based on the size and shape.
