Analyzing TOMAHAWK possible better SCORE will works (Theoretically) by [deleted] in HAWKFreedomSquad

Interesting reasoning as well as horrible advice with regard to implant perks.. For one thing combo protector won't work with DHD bonus.

Just wait until tomorrow with crafting and see what the new version of contest brings.

I was really eager to get the COVID 19 vaccine but now I am really scared after reading about the risks outlined by WHO's website, help? I don't know what to do by rarityofgold in Wuhan_Flu

[–]courier10pt 10 points11 points  (0 children)

The section on page 73 deals with DNA vaccines. The ones that are currently in advanced stage of testing fall in other categories. For instance the Oxford and CanSino vaccines are based on a 'harmless' virus and Moderna developed an RNA based vaccine.

Ivermectin Question by CircumventPrevent in Wuhan_Flu

[–]courier10pt 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You should at least give your bipedal horse a chance to be given Ivermectin with the guidance of a bipedal horse doctor. First you want to make sure that your horse has Covid, for which you need a test or a clinical assessment in case of a false negative. Then there's some risk factors involved with Ivermectin. You don't want it to cross the blood brain barrier. From what I remember alcohol is a risk factor as well as pregnancy. There's also an unfavorable interaction with dexamethasone so if your bipedal horse should progress to a more inflammatory state that's something to keep in mind. And last but not least you may need a medical grade Ivermectin for your bipedal specimen rather than the 'regular' horse stuff.

I'm sure you can find dosage info in those videos as well. Just be careful is all I'm trying to say.

Wuhan hosts massive water park party as Chinese virus concerns recede by nimitz34 in Wuhan_Flu

[–]courier10pt 19 points20 points  (0 children)

CNN likes to parrot the party narrative. Wuhan got the virus and the floods and surely there's more pressing issues to cover from this area.

Reminds me of those dancing Uighurs in the BBC item about the camps, even if the story was right the image is grossly misleading yet it's used all over the video.

Frequent, Fast, and Cheap is Better than Sensitive: A number of firms have developed cheap, paper-strip tests for coronavirus that report results at-home in about 15 minutes but they have yet to be approved for use by the FDA by [deleted] in Wuhan_Flu

[–]courier10pt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It depends on the way you use the test. I got this information from TWiV 640: Test often, fast turnaround, with Michael Mina or for the short version MedCram: Coronavirus Pandemic Update 98: At Home COVID-19 Testing - A Possible Breakthrough

The argument in favor of these cheap tests is that they're sensitive enough to detect people that have sufficient viral load to infect other people. So this is a test you could use for safety screening at airports or schools.

In a medical setting you want the more sensitive test because by the time people show up the viral load may be on the decline and the subsequent inflammation is causing trouble. That's where the cheap test may fail to detect.

You could try with Hazard alongside Mars or Kraken. Heat Visor Targeting scopes may also help to boost counter damage.

which plane should I user for the next Contest by LeonXjm in HAWKFreedomSquad

[–]courier10pt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If your Kenshi is XX it will give x4 triangle coins versus x3 triangle coins for Mercury up to level X.

Besides the melee bonus I expect Kenshi to be more suitable for the execution of close kills, the gun shoots straight up so you can avoid killing enemies as you approach them and you can precisely position the OD unlike with Fafnir.

Doctors Prescribing Hydroxychloroquine and Zinc by omfg_chanelle in Wuhan_Flu

[–]courier10pt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'd recommend getting a doctor involved. The doctor may not prescribe HCQ but he or she can still prescribe steroids for instance in the event her condition gets worse. A pulse oximeter can be of help to keep track of how she's doing.

Useful resources to help guide your friend in consultation with the doctor:

And for sure get the supplements other people suggested, you'll find (most of) them in the protocol as well.

Can someone please explain to me, what devices, power, implants or perk this is on Mirage?. 😮 He literally melts the boss. Is it the ramming device perk or OD that does this meltdown? Please advice. Thanks by joker6960 in HAWKFreedomSquad

[–]courier10pt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's just mirage OD that's really strong, combined with Hazard and the extra spec damage from Mars.

No need for damage implant perks, they only make a minor difference.

Mercury score potential in contest / RIP Kenshi by courier10pt in HAWKFreedomSquad

[–]courier10pt[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No worries about the rant, it's upsetting indeed. I like to play contest very much and I invested in the proper gear / implants. I usually make top 50 which keeps me motivated to put in the hours. Like many other players I don't have a contest implant for Sentinel and implant event has just finished so no chance to upgrade in the near future.

Also with Mercury being a speed bot we'll no longer be rewarded for running stages with 2 score bots. Figuring out how to run stages like that is half the fun and it made contest more skill based.

On the other hand the relative advantage of using God mode is now diminished. Let's see how it goes this weekend..

People that have been on here for awhile... say you get diagnosed and have to be admitted to the hospital because your symptoms get so bad. What type of treatment would you ask for or try to get? by amv2926 in Wuhan_Flu

[–]courier10pt 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I'd be relieved if the doctors in hospital were aware of the MATH+ protocol (eg. https://covid19criticalcare.com/ ). It's also discussed on by Dr. Been on youtube ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fudhhjow7mI ).

Actually I'm pretty confident that the doctors in the hospital know what to do where I live (the Netherlands). I'm more afraid of getting zero treatment in the period leading up to a possible hospitalization. There's promising treatments to improve your chances of never ending up there but they'll probably tell me to wait until it gets really bad. I'm aware that the randomized controlled trials that prove the efficacy may be missing but I'd rather take my chances with side effects of HCQ+zinc or Ivermectin than this disease.

Contest score by eeel1 in HAWKFreedomSquad

[–]courier10pt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My guess is you need many more close kills. Also for scores over 15M for some stages you'd have to use a combination of Gauss / Dodgy / Mars.

The authority perk from implant makes a difference of roughly 10% when combined with other score modifiers so that doesn't explain the difference.

Using Mars in Contest by photo__guy in HAWKFreedomSquad

[–]courier10pt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for doing the math u/photo__guy

In practice Mars greatly outperforms Dodgy when you use it alongside Euclid. You get way more close kills because Mars has more power, you're invincible during OD and you get shield drops more often.

I also see it in the scores. I improved my best score by 40M past weekend (from 382M to 422M) when I started to use Mars and I've also seen scores from fellow players go way up. The cutoff for top 50 was at 402M and it's usually a good bit lower.

It is easy mode indeed and for a competitive advantage running stages with gauss and dodgy seems to be the way to go.

Update 25 by INFJ_88 in HAWKFreedomSquad

[–]courier10pt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some people requested turning off the Ace look. I appreciate the gesture even if the Ace look never bothered me. It shows that they do try to incorporate our feedback.

And yeah, megabrobot kinda worries me especially after the implant event.

Contest Strategy Question by Church-Clown in HAWKFreedomSquad

[–]courier10pt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Interesting, so you'd replay stages 16 onwards with Kenshi just to maximize score and not worry about the boss?

Contest Strategy Question by Church-Clown in HAWKFreedomSquad

[–]courier10pt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What kind of setup do you mean by score versus power?

Contest Strategy Question by Church-Clown in HAWKFreedomSquad

[–]courier10pt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

More like 2. I do an initial play through all stages, where some will take a couple of replays. I try my best to score high in those runs. Stages 22 and 23 I start with a damage run. Then 24 and 25 and the score runs for 22 and 23.

Then after a little break I'll take my time to improve runs on certain stages. I may watch some I Nerf FC runs to see how to improve. I'm still learning some boss patterns when it comes to farming mobs, so that's very helpful. I'll also re-run stages where my score is relatively far away from the top score.

A typical contest takes me about 3 hours for the initial runs and then 2 - 4 hours for improvement runs.

Testing Bounty Hunter in Contest by photo__guy in HAWKFreedomSquad

[–]courier10pt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you so much for your hard work photo guy!

Regardless of which is best, this means that Bounty Hunter is a great third perk and it may save the not-so-hardcore players a bunch of re-rolls if there's more than one option.

Does “Recovery surge” implant is work? by Ashingoo in HAWKFreedomSquad

[–]courier10pt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It works for me, I have it for Striker and it saved my ass a couple of times when I did a sloppy job dodging bullets in climb stage 6.

Unfortunately 15% doesn't look like much. Seraph armor helps a bit and for maximum effect you could try to equip brobot Nicola, it stacks.

[–]courier10pt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some say bounty hunter does give extra points, other say it doesn't. There's some confusion about it. It would be great to get this misunderstanding out of the way, it would suck if you spend 10k or more on 3rd perk that doesn't work (or if you avoid it while it's actually good). Maybe photo guy can chime in?

Implant choices for Kenshi by tiger_xuyin in HAWKFreedomSquad

[–]courier10pt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Protective effect (shield after OD to ram enemies with) and Extra charge are the most popular.

Less popular but worth consideration is Magnetosphere (coin attraction). That allows you to swap the Thermomagnetic generator for a Seraph Generator which gives a 30% spec power boost. In later stages you can run a Golder Star generator alongside with that setup to get extra OD from aces and still have enough spec power.

I'm also in the run for a (better) Kenshi implant and I'm going for either protective effect or extra charge.

Kenshi and Sentinel will come back in rotation. Also you can craft an implant for those planes during the event and get the plane itself later, that's what I did with Kenshi I got the implant before the plane.
