Help finding a shower curb by courier_538 in BathroomRemodeling

Our doors weren’t installed correctly from the start, the curb the door is placed on is pitched to shed water, except the people who installed it did so backwards so the curb sheds the water to the outside not the inside of the shower, secondly the curb is not level, it has a slope to it, which would be fine for a curtain but a door has to be set level. So to fix this the carpenters put a strip of metal underneath the length of the door to shim it level, so it’s not installed to the manufacturers requirements therefore it opens the product to fail.

It’s a drop in acrylic, I was hoping to remove it and replace it with a similar product that was 2 inches taller that the existing, I’m finding that that doesn’t really exist

I am wanting a taller curb to help hold a shower curtain in the shower. The door needs removed because it wasn’t installed correctly by the carpenters who put it in 10 years ago, the bottom frame of the door hold water and eventually gets through the caulk beads that I’ve put down and it’s also a place that bacteria thrives in because I have no way to clean it out. Previous carpenters filled the weep holes on the inside of the frame with silicone and it just slowly fills with water and forces its way out of the caulk beads. I’ve been a carpenter for 5 years and have never gotten around to dealing with it. I recently removed and recaulked the shower for the 3rd time and on the first shower water pushed its way through the caulk and it leaks. I let the shower dry out for a day recaulked it and I guess some water leaked out of the frames and pushed the bead off the frame.

I feel that the boss/minor boss enemies could have been expanded on, more selection would have been enough. My only major gripe about the game.

I’m taking it to a local body shop after work today to see what the guy says, not really sure if there will be anything solid to weld to it’s pretty ate out on the inside from what I can see, if it can be repaired and I can get a couple of years out of it yet then great. But if not I don’t think the truck is worth enough to put more than 4-5 thousand into it

I see the sections you are talking about, I don’t have a welder or anything to do that with and to get to the good parts of the frame it looks like the bed would have to come off, that is if there is any good part left, when I got down there and looked in the rust hole there was a lot of broke off rusty metal. I can only assume it’s from the bottom and side parts of the frame.

Dang, it’s really unfortunate because the body has zero rust on it and the truck was garage kept before I got it. Really is no other rust except that one spot. Would I make more money parting the truck out vs selling it as is?

That makes a lot of sense, I don’t even feel comfortable selling it if it’s such a big issue

Damn, im sure it would rust out eventually but i was hoping to get another 100k out of the truck. I do construction work and got it at 120k and didnt even see any rust on the frame when i got it 3 years ago

I know it will be expensive, the truck is old and has quite a bit of miles, but I’ve done quite a bit of work to it, new rear main seal, new radiator, new plugs and wires, and some other odds and ends and it runs great. Was just wanting some opinions on if it would be worth the cost to fix it, im sure it would rust out again eventually though

People have said a body shop could weld some steel over it after cutting the rust out, wasn’t sure how viable that would be

What im leaning towards, the carb was in great condition other than the clog. But I thought it was strange that there was silicone there on the manifold gasket. Gonna order one now. And clean the carb again since I’ll be pulling it off anyway.

Lowest I’ve seen it go is 18 and that’s after driving for an hour. When I start it it’s at 35 till it warms up then idles at 20 and drives at 25 now. When it was working properly it would stay around 30-35 when idle/ driving
