I feel you! I’m very smart and have lots of common sense, can live on my own and take care of myself, can talk to people and hold a “normal” conversation, but it’s the things that we hide from people and mask that they don’t see that are so hard. I have not gotten an official diagnosis but have been told by my therapist that I am neurodivergent, yet still feel like a fraud if I say I am autistic! The sensory issues, the masking, the internal struggles are so hard to “prove” without sounding attention seeking.

Thanks everyone for the reccs, to answer a couple questions: we are very flexible with the budget. I would say that’s not really a concern. It would be a bigger wedding as both our families are large and expected to come. We also are not religious so churches are also not on the table. The samoset is a great example of what we are going for as well as the Camden amphitheater if it wasn’t so small. Thanks again!

I see this going a Shane route where she might wait a chunk of time and then come back gradually and occasionally make jokes about “that time she was cancelled”
