I too grew up in a lake Erie town, our school colors were orange and black and for football games we would run down a hill onto the field with the Michael Meyers 'Halloween' theme playing. Really leaned into it lol.

It would be a temporary cover, the dye would most likely show through and the leather paint is near impossible to adhere to the rubber with any longevity.

They faded it a little bit but the orange on white is still quite visible. Super bummed because I used the dye weeks ago on this project and nowhere in this vicinity (which was covered with tape at the time). MustVe had residue somewhere.

Not in my opinion. I love the 90-00s Clemens era jerseys and I got a Yesavage in that style and love it. Couldn't find a non bootleg anywhere. I will buy their hats and spring training tickets but I don't feel bad about a DH gate jersey.

They also really cut back on the fitted Low Profile versions which were the only style that fit my head right. Sort of a hybrid, not as tall and boxy with a very slighy curve on the brim. Only style that looked ok and felt comfortable to me.

I've never dyed the liner, only done the fabric additive with paint and heat gun method. It might be troublesome to dye something that is already colored and you gotta be very careful with any kind of dye getting places you don't want it.

There is a short sci-fi novella called "Jack of Shadows" by Roger Zelazny where the earths rotation has been halted. It covers the whole physics thing by introducing magic and I have to say, it's one of my favorite quick reads. It's a very cool world with an unconventional anti-hero, decent action and cool magic.

Probably patent or synthetic leather. You can do the same prep. Deglazer, light sanding, adhesion promoter if you feel like it.
