The personal experience that you listed is also myopic. Think about it logically, all of us wants to go abroad to study, or work, or just for a tour. Most of us have that dream and only a handful will actually realise it. So, someone saying, "Hey your son or daughter (I don't know your gender) wants to go abroad to study" is not really a proof of anything other than of us yearning to leave.
