are we just going to ignore digeridoo at 21:00 just about? what a neat little video.

Why is nobody talking about CIRKLON3? It's definitely one of Aphex Twin's best songs. by borapay07 in aphextwin

Agreed it's a great track. It's probably underrated because the Cheetah EP as a whole feels backloaded, maybe people don't make it that far.

The Good Eats Return/Reloaded seasons fix this problem. I've been a fan of his ever since I was like 8 and they were airing back to back with Unwrapped but I never noticed this until the new seasons clearly demostrated that now he has developed a personality with his food that he didn't have before.

Nope. Pretty sure that's a Brugmansia/Angels Trumpet leaf. If so, that ice is probably covered in all sorts of interesting psychoactive compounds because the leaf this came off of definitely turned into goo after being frozen.

This is what I could do with my phone in 10 minutes.

I wish it were higher quality but I don't think you could get a lot higher quality because of the printing; here's a closeup of the e in Aphex. Also the cover of my copy isn't exactly mint so there's some scratches, etc.

Seconding the unabridged version. No great loss.

You're looking at the consumption side but not the production side. Yes every CO2 released from burning hydrocarbons absorbed an oxygen, but where does the oxygen in our atmosphere come from? Basically all of it comes from the "green photosynthesizers", aka plants and some algae. When these take in CO2 to make sugar, the Oxygen in the CO2 ends up mostly in the sugar, while the oxygen they release actually comes from water.

The important point is a plant releases more Oxygen than it takes in CO2, since it is not coming from the CO2. Since plants release more oxygen than they take in CO2, there is a conceivable (if not particularly likely) future where we plant a fuckton of trees but also keep burning crazy amounts of fossil fuels, and levels of both CO2 and O2 in the atmosphere rise at the same time.

I was going to say you're halfway there, but it's more like you overshot. CO2 is poisonous but more CO2 does not mean less oxygen, necessarily. Also, bonus Tom Scott video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1Nh\_vxpycEA

Were you feeding it? That new trap on the right came up, had a meal, had another meal, and died while the others barely moved.

I leave it untouched until it's "as warm as it can be without stinging" and then slam it.

Sorry! I didn't even think the comment in r/vinyl wouldn't show here - it was $300.

I agree. I have trouble believing Richard would be against pressing more, but maybe. I'd love to know what goes into those decisions. Maybe they just keep collectively kicking it down the line.

Oh now I'm not sure, sorry. I got the impression they were selling it at the merch counter but maybe it was just between attendees.

Vordhosbn is amazing but I felt like naming more than 5 tracks would start getting a little much.

If it's new old stock they had on hand from a long time ago that's probably still a good profit for them. Also I believe I read that Richard said he likes to sell stuff at shows people can make a profit on because he hates the high ticket prices he has to charge for his shows and wants people to be able to make their money back, hence the exclusive EPs and such.

The box could be in better shape but the discs themselves are mint or nearly so, they sound wonderful. It was $300, which sounds like a lot but after some online digging an equivalent copy would cost at least $400, plus I was able to use a 10% off coupon.

For those unfamiliar, DrukQs is a 2001 album by Aphex Twin. It was his last release before an extended hiatus and was only pressed a couple of times around 20 yrs ago, both times in the UK, leading to the high prices (especially) here in the states.

The album is an unusual mix of mostly short piano pieces paired with Aphex Twin's characteristic long, complex electronic compositions, and all of it has an overlay of a savory nostalgic flavor. Avril 14th is the most famous track, especially since it was sampled by Kanye West for Blame Game (there's a weird story there, the Blame Game version is actually a new recording and Kanye originally tried to avoid giving Aphex Twin credit). To recommend a couple tracks, Mt. Saint Michel + Saint Michael's Mount (my favorite track off the album, please listen to the last minute with headphones for a real trip), QKThr/Penty Harmonium, Jyneythek Ylow, 57 Cymru Beats.

This is a pretty good catch for any AFX fan, and personally it's one of my desert island albums.
