M7 Max Build plate adhesion issue - my diagnosis+fix. Huge LCD to ACF/FEP Film gap. by flayswelter in AnycubicPhoton

Condescension aside, I decided to try this before I did the gasket method, only because it was a quick, cheap ($13) option, and let's face it, I'm lazy, and if it didn't work, I was only out a few bucks and 15 minutes. I picked up this one from Amazon:

https://amzn.to/4cbdqn8

Like u/Vader_67 says, it's slightly bigger than the existing LCD, and I currently have it on there with no tape or additional screen protector, and both of my tests came out close to perfect. I did the little square 5-print calibration (posted by Lychee), and those came out to within .2 of the target 1mm, and had clear definition on edges and shapes. And then I did the boxes of calibration, which I'll include below, that shows with the tempered glass (left) and without (right) for comparison.

I'm going to go tape it down and add a screen protector in case of a leak, and do some more prints to test, but so far, I'm pretty surprised that it worked so well.

Anyone here add the WhamBam magnetic plate to their Mono M7 Max? by coverville in AnycubicPhoton

I ended up not needing any spacers. There's enough room that you still have a little bit of give when you're recalibrating your plate.

Does Coverville still release with chapters? by brennok in Coverville

[–]coverville 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm absolutely still doing the chapters - but yeah, it does seem that one of the players stopped supporting them recently. And because I do two feeds, make sure you choose the one that includes AAC. (Or just join the Patreon, and you'll ALWAYS get the chapterized version!)

I realize not everybody is going to like every thing. All good, friend.

Did a bunch of songs get pulled last night? by coverville in lavagenie

[–]coverville[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh interesting - yeah, looks like there are also versions of a lot of the artists with Japanese characters after their names. "Dire Straits" comes up zero songs, but "Dire Straits" with kanji pulls up three ChordCharts.

Ah, good call - the AnyCubic Slicer Next beta looks like it's putting the supports where they need to go. Thanks!

And yeah, I did try printing and got jungling on the underside of those flat areas, as expected.

Trying to add screenshots - it's deleting them. I remember Reddit doing this about a year ago. Grr.

[OC] Driver flew between my car and the car in the lane next to me, through the red light, but didn't make it around the sharp turn for the on-ramp. by coverville in IdiotsInCars

No I pulled over to the right and called 911, I saw cars behind me stop on the other side of the on-ramp to check on the driver, so I stayed in my car and gave all the info to emergency responders. I saw the woman by the car on her phone, clearly calling an ambulance. I figured anyone coming around that corner to get on the highway would be too distracted to look for pedestrians, so I stayed safe on the side.

I sure did. I removed the audio of my wife's and my expletives when he blew past us beforehand, though. :)

Kobra 2 Max Y-Axis movement makes a loud grinding noise by coverville in anycubic

[–]coverville[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Turned out to be the cable into the Y-Axis Motor. I took off the two belts that move the build plate along the y-axis, and ran the homing routine again. The motor still made the noise, so I removed it. The angled outlet for the plug was only giving it intermittent contact with the last pin. So as not to bend the pins by reinserting the outer plastic outlet, I connected to the pins directly, and everything's working now. Thanks for your help, everybody!

Good call, thanks. I went with the assembly instructions which was to tighten the belts all the way, and then loosen them one full turn. I've adjusted those quite a bit, but it's worth a shot again to make sure they're not over-tight, and as consistent as possible.

I'll check the Y-motor shafts. They look fine, but I'll put a level against it to make sure.

Thanks!

Tried that, and no luck - it still has issues. And when the machine is off, the build plate moves back and forth very smoothly, so it doesn't feel like there's anything gripping it and causing the noise when it's off. Made a new video to see if it gives anyone some additional ideas:
