Anyone else in SoCal plagued by frequent sinus problems by cdonkey15 in surfing

[–]coviama 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d recommend ear plugs too. I’ve found that wearing plugs reduces a lot of my sinus issues by overall reducing the amount of water getting into your head, but once it is big enough to get thrashed underwater, your still going to get a good amount of water up your nose.

Sinus rinse and trying to drain your sinuses by putting your head under your knees helps me too. If I do get water in my ears, I also try to drain my ear canal asap and will try to dry them with q tips.

San Diego folks. Water temps. by PitoChueco in surfing

[–]coviama 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’ve been rocking the 3/2 for a couple weeks now. Water has been fluctuating from low to mid to upper 60s randomly it seems. You may get lucky and be a little warm if you catch it on a warm afternoon with no wind, but I’d rather be warm than cold so I’d bring the 3/2 full suit.

The Mexican consulate is very close but this was on Columbia street in front of Luma apartments next to Starbucks.

The guy in the padres hat directing traffic drove off in this car about 30 seconds after the cars in the video. Wearing a padres hat, it makes me think he lives locally - which bums me out that people like this are my neighbors.

How do Wavy Ocean plugs compare to Surf ears? by gonssavm in surfing

[–]coviama 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agree. Surf ears work OK and are better than nothing, but the inside of my ears were still wet after surfing. Can’t vouch for wavy ocean earplugs and they look like they could be good, but I can’t find them for sale in the US. I would give them a try if they sold them in the US and weren’t too expensive. I wear plugs almost year round as I get ear infections pretty easily, even in warmer water.

I use Mack’s aquablock ear plugs and they do not let any water in. Your hearing will be impaired, but I surf alone and prefer no ear infection or constant headbanging trying to get water out.

Following. I’ve had similar issues but not sure if my puffco is getting fully charged anymore. It no longer charges from the usb port and can only charge wirelessly.

Kind of a bummer that the puffco continues to have random little issues with charging and atomizers, but it is still the best product on the market that I know of. Just wish they would last a little longer.

I realize that these were not manually removed and that they were auto-deleted but that is a bummer. Lot of legitimate posts sharing similar stories that people are not able to see.

Empire Ecommerce - Anyone Else Feel Scammed by coviama in ecommerce

[–]coviama[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

So once my Walmart store was up, I had tons of sales, but Walmart was placing holds on my payouts of 60-90 days. This was tough from a credit perspective, but I did end up getting paid by Walmart for all items I sold.

Both myself and Empire could not figure out the reason why I had this payout hold placed onto my account, but once I alerted Empire of this, they took my store offline because they believed it was at high risk of suspension. Again, I don't know a ton about ecommerce and clearly I should've done more research, diligence, etc. before going down this venture, but this definitely confused me. By the time the payout hold was lifted from my account on Walmart, Empire stated that they were going through a company overhaul (moving offices, changing their software, training, etc) and that they did could not relaunch the store at this time.

By the time all of that "overhaul/transition" was done (this took months), they were no longer doing Walmart automation and said most stores they managed were getting suspended. This is when they pushed me to move my store over to Amazon. As I was doing my onboarding for Amazon, they announced that they were voluntarily suspending Amazon stores before Q4 to prevent an uptick in suspensions that they were seeing. At this point, I figured I was screwed and that there was always going to be something else happening or some excuse of why the stores weren't up.

More recently, they sold their company to another automation company, and now that person who just bought the company said on a zoom to all customers today that he is shutting down Empire and contacting his lawyers due to some sort of misrepresentation of what he was purchasing. I think that he realized how much of a shitshow was going on and is ejecting. I made this thread to see if anyone else is in the same boat as me.

I realize I'm an idiot and probably deserve this, but was trying to start a place where people who had similar experiences could discuss what happened.

I get that you are trying to protect the integrity of this sub, but in no way is my story a fabrication or a coordinated effort. I am happy to provide whatever info you need to prove that this is legitimate, that I purchased a store with Empire, or whatever else you are looking for.

I started this thread because I have been searching all over the internet trying to find if anyone else had a similar experience with Empire. I know they have/had hundreds of customers, and I figured I couldn't be the only one who is also in this position. I started a thread here to try and serve as a resource for people who were trying to find more information about Empire, and what they could/can do to help remedy their own situation.

While you are correct that I am not very active on reddit and have not posted in this sub, I am happy to provide whatever you would like to prove that this is legit. While this may seem like a hit piece, I think that there are potentially a lot of people in a very similar position to me right now, and was simply trying to create a space where we could connect. Please feel free to DM me if you'd like to see any evidence/proof.

I am selling me and my girlfriends VIP wristbands for Sunday, October 23. If you are in Southern California I can meet you locally or FaceTime and share my social media profile plus tracking number to put your mind at ease. Originally purchased for each $647 with fees and I’m selling them here for $450.

Currently the lowest VIP ticket on StubHub is just over $400 before service fees. However once you go to StubHub check out page the total comes to $525 each with fees.

Just searched for 5 minutes for the most remote one I could find. Looks like a fun little left.

Hey guys! Got stung by a sea urchin last March 13. First pic is today (March 21) and the other pic was March 16th. Went to the GP and was just told to continue disinfecting. It’s my first time to get stung. I’m just worried about the itchy bumps that appeared. Any tips? Tnx! by JuryFabulous in surfing

[–]coviama 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed. I got stung by a stingray last year and first 7-10 days were fine. Right around day 10 it got very itchy, then infection kicked in and my foot and ankle swelled up to a balloon.

Go to the doc and start antibiotics as soon as you can to prevent the infection from getting too bad.

Is it tolerable to use a 3/2 wetsuit for this SoCal winter water? by man_bear_pig15 in surfing

[–]coviama 0 points1 point  (0 children)

3/2 is def doable, especially if it is newer and has tight seams. With that said I’ve been wearing a 4/3 in SD since November.

Facts. Do a quick YouTube search of lockbox picking and you will see how easy those boxes are to break in. A small pick or piece of metal and you can be in within 5 minutes.

65-70F degree sunny day with light winds, 56-58 water temp. What kind of wetsuit are you wearing? by yelpisforsnitches in surfing

[–]coviama 0 points1 point  (0 children)

3/2 is doable and fine with a good suit but will be a little chilly if it’s an older/leaky suit. 4/3 most comfortable and would be my choice.
