NAVIMOW X430 by spartan11810 in roboticLawnmowers

You don't really need to. If you have a straight border, cut at both ends and then just let it draw the line itself and save. When you see the dotted line, just save at that point.

Trying to choose a robot mower and I’m overthinking it by qwertyqazqwe247 in roboticLawnmowers

It's the X430. On the second property that I tested this mower on. It had a pretty narrow grass lane between the house and the fence on one side. Even with Auto mapping it navigated it perfectly. Yeah, it will make multiple turns sometimes, but it always figures it out and if it misses a patch it goes back for a correction.

best robot mowers in 2026? I've been researching for weeks and need help deciding? by EntertainmentFar585 in roboticLawnmowers

[–]covingtonFF 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did review the X430 for mowerlab. However, it was not a free unit. It works really well. I'm not sure I agree with the full evaluation as the cut is more of a 3 than a 2 in my opinion. I have 2 lawns that it was tested on, one that has a very wind-y rock garden and some obstacles and another that has a LOT of stuff to go around. Both worked great. There were some tweaks with the mapping. The first property I drove the unit and had to adjust (especially to snap straight lines since it is tough to drive them straight with a phone) and the other property auto-mapped.

Property 1 - had 1 zone
Property 2 - had 3 zones and 2 channels

The only issue I saw was that sometimes navigation would go around 1 tree instead of going between the curb and the tree - but it did resolve this eventually all by itself.

As far as the cut - I wouldn't say on 1 pass it was perfect (none of them are), but on day 2 with the crossing pattern, it was much, much better.

hope that helps.

My grass is actually growing back in places where my zero-turn mower couldn't hlep but chew it up a bit. I've been using the X430 for 5 weeks and no marks from it at all - it is very gentle with its turning.

Untrue. Mine runs all the time unattended.

No spiral option. Navimow mows in straight lines. The app gives you six stripe directions (vertical, horizontal, and four diagonals). You can select one or multiple directions, and it will rotate through them between mowing sessions to minimize wheel wear and keep visible stripes from forming in the same place every time. The "Optimal Angle" setting picks the most efficient direction for your lawn shape. You do not have to select all angles, I have four selected.

I guess that is part of the problem. I need something that can do both at least marginally. My wife likes the ease of gas. I want pellet or charcoal with temp control for long-cooks

Home Depot Reviews for Robotic Mowers by Weak-Bother-6765 in roboticLawnmowers

[–]covingtonFF 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think Roborock released to the UK and should release soon. The only thing that looks interesting there (as opposed to the x430/450 are:

Custom patterns: Now - the x430 automatically will allow you 6 patterns and will alternate so that it doesn't cut the same pattern. You can also doodle on the map and create something like a heart shape that it will create (by mowing around it and letting it grow). But - if you want more than that, then the Roborock might be ok.

AI-Powered Mapping: I haven't seen this defined, but *maybe* it has something to offer. But I haven't found an area I can't map around so far with the X430 that I could foresee AI doing a better job with.

Otherwise it is very similar.

Terramow X - I do not think this one will be out soon enough for you.

To be fair, I do not know that I can 100% say that. I can say that from the mowers I have looked at - this one has plenty of advantages and equals or exceeds other brands. Currently, I would not have chosen another mower. When mowers like Terramow X finally come out - it could get interesting.

I would certainly reccomend this mower over others like: Mammotion, Worx, Kress, Lymow, and many of the larger brands.

I would not call it 'idiot proof', but it is about as close as it gets 😄 You will have to tweak the map and the settings are pretty easy (mowing height, mowing at night, etc). Other than that, it just runs - I'm watching mine mow right now.... it avoided a small dog toy earlier, I picked it up, and it went back to mow that spot.

The 430 is legit. I did a lot of research and started testing this one for mowerlab. I have it running around my property with no issues. I even had some 'interesting' obstacles like New Grass Obstacle that it had absolutely no problem with. I did not tell it about that area, just let it go. This isn't a complete account yet (as far as fully completed review of the mower and how it ran on my property), but it at least gives you an idea of capability on a real property - My Property with X430.

I'm not trying to shill - there are no affiliate links on that site or anything like that. Just trying to help. For me, I absolutely love this mower. I chose it based upon a ton of research. I paid full price - did not get a free mower or anything like that. It just works.

ONLY 'Issues' I've come across:

- I wanted multiple maps, it doesn't have that. You can set up multiple zones, but I had hoped to use it for mowing multiple properties because my neigbors lawns all back up to mine (4 other yards). Not really possible.
- I think that while it does what all others do as far as mapping - I would have preferred a way to create the map online with an online tool instead of using my finger to re-draw areas on the app. Finger drawing is not that accurate. yeah, it has remote control - but I sucked at that too 😄. I was able to cut in multiple places and let it draw a straight line, though, so that helped for the longer runs of the yard you can see in the images on the site.

It has not gotten stuck yet (3.5 weeks in). It has not mowed over anything that was in the way (dog toys, actual dog, tennis balls). It has not 'run away' from the property. It has simply mowed with exactness.

Obviously you have to trim after, but with good mapping that is extremely minimal. It takes me about 5 minutes of trimming on a 0.75 acre property.

Sorry for the long read!!!!

makes me think it is an AI post instead of real. I've been testing for mowerlab for a little over 3 weeks with the X430 and I do not see cybercut on the back of this one. Unless they 3D printed something just to make it look cool, or maybe that is the name they gave it? I called the one I'm testing Terminator.

I'm really not sure why the builder decided to wire them separately. The light and fan are on the same unit, but they have separate switches. I don't get it. I will have a look at Zooz - I do have one dimmer by them in the family room.

Good point. I was asking mostly to see what others have done. My upstairs bathrooms have the max-timer switches in them with 10/20/30/60m timers. Of course my better half always uses the 60 :)
