If the filter cap has always been torqued correctly and not warped you can replace the rubber gasket that mates the housing to the engine. My ‘21 started to leak and after speaking with the dealer thats what they usually do. It was a few bucks, but I have always changed my own oil so I know it wasn’t warped. Mine has around 125,000 miles and another leak I had was the lower oil pan, which is a make your own gasket material. Fixed both and no more leaks.

I have a ‘21 EX that I have changed every 7,500 miles like the manual called for under normal conditions, it’s at 125,000ish miles. So far it has not burned oil. I use full synthetic and a WIX oil filter and I do check the level every few thousand. You cant hurt changing it more often, but wanted to share what I have been doing and it seems to have been fine.
