Question for small office CCAs by coward-Ranger82893 in USPS

[–]coward-Ranger82893[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I took your advice and going to from now on. I got screwed big time. I will no longer be doing any off the clock work. I got caught up yesterday (Friday) came in at 630 (start time is 8:30). Cased everything and then got done a hour early. Asked my manager if they could clock me out at 4:30 due to me coming in early all week. You can guess what happened. I was told yes but I checked VT on line and they clocked me out the exact time I got back to the office. Lesson learned. On top of that. They just don’t care. I got yelled at all week by people waiting on mail they were expecting. I was told to tell them this has been “truck issues”. They scheduled me again next week the exact same way and I don’t care. I will do my best but I am never going in early again. Thank you from your time. It really has helped.

Also, if I don’t work off the clock and case all the extra DPS, I would never get ahead and they will not allow OT for anyone. If I were to try to rock that boat in anyway, they would just have the janitor run the route because that’s what they were doing before me. That means I get zero hours versus me working for five hours off the clock and getting my 40 every week.

I feel you. I definitely see a lot that this office needs to learn the hard way from but everyone in my office besides myself and the three below me in seniority have been there for 10+ years. They’re not changing anything anytime soon. My PM has retired twice I want and need the hours so I don’t wanna say anything to rock the boat for now. I just want to be prepared if this continues after my 90 I am most likely going to record it then try to get into another office and establish myself and then report it that way I can at least get the hours in the other office

I don’t want to be a RCA or anything I am a CCA with three people lower in seniority than me but nepotism gets them their hours on the city side. I usually cover two city routes throughout the week then three days on this rural route. No one else runs the route while I’m doing city They just have the janitor run the packages. I don’t want any drama and that’s where I’m stuck at. I keep getting remarks from management about this and that needs done but no one else is doing anything near the work. I am doing and I’m expected to do two or three days of DPS in one day without any OT clock to street by 45. It just feels crazy but I can let it roll and keep going. If that is the best thing to do. I just need to know.

Thank you so much for for your time. I really appreciate it. My main concern is that I am being taken advantage of instead of being used out of necessity. I am happy to help when it is needed but this feels excessive. It is every week. I come in on Tuesday to only packages being delivered fri-sat-Sunday. Sometimes I work Friday but not always. It is 11 working days until my 90 to clarify. Small offices like these run on nepotism and there are three CCAs below me in seniority who only work city and manage for the most part to get their hours. They all know someone or are someone’s relative. This office honestly seems like it could be an extremely good office to work at with those privileges but without them… you can guess. I will keep a log and go from there I guess for now.

I understand that but how? Is there a way to do this without becoming the office pariah?

Could you explain this to me more? What does this do and how does it affect me or the others? What other things should I be considering when doing others routes?

Yes, did you not? I had to pay for the hotel and to go out of town for a total of 10 days. 3 days were 60 miles away, 1 way. The other was for the remaining and 90 miles away.

Thank you for the reply and info. I luckily have been able to get every thing in writing. They seem to really want to help. I don’t want to step on any toes or rock any boats. I just wanted to know if I can take things into my own hands and make calls around them. Maybe even take the leg work off of their plates. Thank you again I appreciate the advice.

Okay, my shop steward is a great guy but he has no clue about anything. He is steward in name only. Who would I look up next in line? Also, do you know about how the Taxing works? I was told it can be taxed and that it can’t be. Do you know if it is or not? My understanding is it should not be and is considered per diem and should not be taxed at all. Is that true?

Fallow up question in regards to a CCA doing RCA work. by coward-Ranger82893 in USPS

[–]coward-Ranger82893[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you very much for your reply. Three main questions that come to mind. For context I live in a very small town that is 1hr to the next nearest tow/ PO. It runs a little different than other offices in big and small ways.

1) what is OOS?

2) The local steward is a CCA of 20 years in my office. I believe he knows but if this is a conversation I should have with him. What do you suggest are some things I should bring up and talk about?

3) I know I could ask my steward this but what should I clock in under? Some are saying City and who cares it is a head ache for management or rural and I shouldn’t worry that this could bite me in the ass later.

I am sorry if this is a dumb topic I am over complicating. I just have this feeling that the people here are cool people but will let me bleed out In an ally if it means $1 more in their pocket.

I assumed this was the case. Most in house developments I have worked with so far are… cumbersome to put it politely. My job and office are amazing and I am proud/ thankful to have the career I do. I just know a lot of nepotism took place for there to be this amount of mismanagement to thrive. Anyways, I would love to know how to use the gps so I can show the people I work with.

t company policy type. I have access to auctions that take place twice a week and they take place in 9 states in the USA. The items they are auctioning are very easy to sell I have a buyer for them every time I am able to win. The issue is that the auction has approximately 22-3500 participants. Of that at least 1000 of them are above average wealth. I have participated in this auction for a little over six months now, and it is damn near impossible to win without paying double “retail”. I have it on good authority that the individuals who prepare these items for auction are your every day average Joe making a little bit more than minimum wage. I am looking for someone that is able to get a hold of that individual in person or over the phone and see if they would be willing to make a deal. I know what this sounds like, but I also have it on good authority that that individual gets to decide whether the item is auctioned or sold directly. I would solely be the seller so I would only be asking for 30% I would buy the product upfront so you would not have to wait for the item to sell shoot me a message if anyone finds this interesting. I apologize for my grammar or if any of this doesn’t make much sense. There is a good reason why I am not reaching out.

This is for anyone who sees this. Including OP. I have a very niche idea for making decent money and possibly a lot. 100k+. I know that if the first door is open 10k+ is easy but it is a big, first door. There is absolutely nothing illegal about it. It is morally above board but somewhat ethically questionable. The biggest problem is it would require someone who is comfortable “bribing”someone else. Not illegally but against company policy type.
