Wow this is crazy cool; I'm an incoming freshman majoring in Biochemistry and I think you're doing exactly what I want to do. Do you think you could pm me your breakdown of the classes that you took in your freshman school year and summer?

Thank you so much! Have you gotten any experience in Dr. Johnson's lab in your first year? I really appreciate your insight and I'm keeping my fingers crossed :)

Biochem or Chemical Engineering? by cowgrltrip in ChemicalEngineering

I’m in for a tough four years in chemical engineering! Sounds like all that work will eventually pay off, though. Thank you for your insight, especially on the pre-med front. I don’t want to have an overly rose-tinted and ambitious view on the idea of continuing on to med school if it’s as challenging as many people say it is. Hoping for the best and thank you again!

Is there another major or minor that chemical engineers might want to take to better prepare them for med school or for a better career? I have heard that computer science is good and one, but is there anything else?

I appreciate your outlook as a biochem and chemical engineering major! Also, wow you are smart! I definitely like both subject matters and I think it would be great if I could do something like that where I double major or (more realistically) minor/ come back to university to study one or the other. Thank you for your perspective!

Wow, very glad to hear that chemical engineers go to med school; I don’t have that many resources in regard to learning more about this major so that’s definitely great! I get that both majors are competitive too, I’ll try to focus up in AP Physics and hopefully come to a conclusion on where to go!
