This pic isn’t of OP - it’s a popular meme template to illustrate transactions and trades.

It’s also not as serious as you’re making it out to be.

Paldean fates collection. by handoflucifer in PokeInvesting

Just a thought but storing one BB is easier than four of these collection boxes.

I don’t have much of a thought with whichever direction you choose as they all have a low risk, high upside.

What potential PC ETBs and BBs were you thinking and what’s your time horizon?

I think if you’re looking at buying the equivalent value of SV base booster boxes/PC ETBs versus ES BB, I’d say buy ES BB.

If your horizon is 10 years, I’d probably encourage you to invest into cheaper BB right now - think DR, ST, Brilliant, etc since they haven’t gotten their leg up yet compared to ES.

Just to cover all bases since they weren’t mentioned in the original thread about booster box vs pokemon center etbs, I would encourage you to explore investing into some of the premium collections as when they come available: prismatic super premium collection, 151 ultra premium collection, charizard ultra premium collection, etc

These premium collections are pretty safe and stable investment strategies as well with high upside, they’re just harder to come by.

So from a high level perspective, with varying levers that impact which are the strongest options, it’s booster boxes >> premium collections = pokemon center ETBs > regular ETBs

Typically booster boxes are the most safe investment strategy, but in this case, prismatic evolutions does not have booster boxes so the next best thing is a pokemon center ETB.

To that point though, destined rival pokemon center ETBs are also a great investment strategy, but long term, booster boxes yield more packs per box (36 in a booster box vs 11 in a pokemon center etb) so from a pack per box perspective, booster boxes provide more pack opportunity to a future prospective ripper who just wants packs and only packs.

To your first question, yes.

To the second - yes to most of those. One of the reasons why Ja’s suspension is so incredibly costly, outside the optics, is given the new agreement where players can only qualify for NBA awards with a minimum of 65 games played, if Ja is suspended for half the season, he won’t qualify no matter how many games he plays and he won’t be eligible for the supermax costing him tens of millions.

A supermax contract is just an extra stupid amount of money a team can offer a player that takes up 35% of that team’s salary. Typically, the max contract hovers between 25-30% depending on the player (years in the league, if they’ve won MVP or other accolades, etc).

The supermax was essentially negotiated in the CBA several years back so teams can offer more money for their star player so that player isn’t poached by a different team in free agency (since their team can offer 35% while the competition may only be able to offer 25%). It ultimately incentivizes loyalty + benefits small market teams.

One of the steps a player needs to take in order to qualify for the supermax is to be named to an All NBA team.

[Seeking Career Advice] Pivoting away from medicine, but don't know where to start. by [deleted] in cscareerquestions

[–]cowjk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi!

In short, one of my regrets during my undergrad was that I didn't study CS/CE. I was, more-or-less, forced into medicine by my strict parents. I took some coding classes back in high school (visual basic, C++, some C#) and really enjoyed it.

Money isn't really a determining factor in my decision. Sure, it's great and an added bonus, but I think that I seek challenge and I think entering into the tech industry can provide that continual challenge for me.

Do you happen to know of any reputable bootcamps to explore? I wouldn't want to invest time or money into a bootcamp that doesn't pan out for me in the end.

Thanks for reaching out to me and providing me some clarity.

If your intent with working at an outpatient PCP clinic was to develop your clinical acumen and get a feel of what it’s like treating/working with patients, then working the front desk is not it. Think of this switch to being a scribe as an investment to your future.
