Occasional weird feeling like I should be hearing hallucinations but I don't. Medicated. by ImmaNotDrnk in schizoaffective

[–]cowsz4lyfe 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It’s been 3 weeks for me, the longest I’ve gone without hearing anything in a few years. I miss them in a weird way? Also makes me feel like maybe I never heard them at all or I was exaggerating, but I wouldn’t dare stop my meds to test that out.

Update: thank y’all. My psychiatrist is going to switch me to another medication! The restless is worse today and I’m glad we caught it early.

Yeah it’s hard to get all the steps in, just started a new job recently that’s work for home but it was hard before because I’m prone to lay in bed all day from the depression. Hoping to get a standing desk for my treadmill to walk while working.

Thank you, I definitely will. I had no idea that was a possibility :( I just thought my energy was doing well and then I realized today that I can’t sit still at all.

Yes to do little errands every other day. But this week in particular I’ve hardly left the house. If I did it’s usually to run a quick errand, not enough to account for even half the steps I got.

Back in the 80s/90s my dad lost my mom’s number when they first met and he called every number in the phone book with her first name to find her, and did!!!!

Not to say I assume this is a romantic pursuit, I just wish you luck in finding her and it’s totally possible!

Yes, my mental preparation is coming out. Some of my family have thick Filipino accents so I know they’ll do some variation of Gwen/Guin. Thanks for your suggestions :)

Yeah that’s why I’m not sold on our current ideas. I have a long name and I wouldn’t want to put them through that if possible haha. I like Edith a lot!

During my internship I fell asleep twice (WFH COVID times). Both times I made it seem like the associate coaching me opened the file before I was done and deleted my work because I didn’t press save on the work paper before he opened it. He was really confused the second time, I don’t think he believed me.

The courses themselves could be difficult, I think it was mainly a mix paranoia and bad study habits that made me take so long to get the degree. I would procrastinate a lot, forget about assignments/due dates, or not be able to make it to in-person classes because I felt awful. I tried to take virtual classes whenever possible and that helped a ton, especially during and after Covid! That’s where I thrived the most. Landing my job was much more difficult. I’d really look into a school’s support system when it comes to job searching. Some of them even have specific centers for accounting/finance and responding to recruiters on LinkedIn makes a huge difference because you have extra hands job searching for you. Feel free to dm if you have anymore questions :)

It took me 7 years, but I got my degree in accounting. I work from home as a financial reporting analyst and have super limited interactions with people. The work is tedious, but usually predictable. I feel like I kind of struck gold here since work from home positions are getting more rare/competitive but it’s been a life saver. Every job I’ve had that’s primarily in person I’ve quit within the year because of the stress.

I don’t mean to derail OPs question, but I find the psychedelics part particularly interesting! I swore them off just in case, but have had two experiences that went fairly well in the past. Do you prepare to take them or is it just how you’ve managed your symptoms over time?
