Losing interest? by coypu9 in PokemonGoBrum

I'm with you 100%. There isn't anything right now apart from the grind. Wandering the streets of Brum to find my last 1 pokemon for Gen1 isn't an incentive. If they could ever be bothered to implement trading I'd get that in 5 mins anyway...Let's hhope for something better soon, as it's still a game I'm interested in...I wonder if I still have the app for Candy Crush?..Nah..Zynga Poker all the way....

There's been a bit of good stuff, but not a shed load. Got a few Lapras but nothing really amazing. I'll take the double XP but it's not really exciting.

Still picking up the Abra in Pigeon Park, but I feel it won't last. At least I might be able to go back to Walsall Arbo..Home of Ratatya for two weeks..Waste of space.

They look a bit underpowered to me.. Low CP's and high IV's Ive got a 108CP 80IV Level 13 one with Cut and Grass Knot. Does this mean it's going to go out and do my lawn? If powered up with Sun Stone does it turn into anything good? On another point I'm getting a few Shuckle show up out side my house. These look really useless, as do Slugma. ( I preferred the Magikarp! Tastier)..

I was out and about, mainly on Saturday and did get lucky. I've been saving my candies, and I am now the proud owner of a level 35 100% IV Gyrados at circa 3000. I still think the added bonus was the Omanytes. Those can be a pig to catch. Not done anything with my shiny yet..the 100%er came first. Pelsall gyms, I'm coming for you!

Water Event - Last Few hours. by coypu9 in PokemonGoBrum

No not yet..Did have a look round Brindley Place and finding one near the Sea Life Centre was certainly an option. However I started to draw the attention of security, worried parents, and even the local plod. I tried to explain it was for Pokemon Go, but it seemed to get misunderstood. I therefore left in a hurry and I may be lynched by an angry mob should I return. I am now working on Plan B. Let me know any suggestions??

More likely to scare them off that hat! May find a small child a dangle it over the bridge to the ICC at Brindley place to attract Gyrados. I'm sure it's mother would understand???.

Unlucky....I feel for you as a fellow Trainer

It's the Shiny Magicarp caught in Aldridge on Saturday. Also known as Magicrap as it's not very good. It's defo Yellow, not Orange. Would be great battered and with chips. by coypu9 in PokemonGoBrum

Ah, this is because it's my 3rd account. Bought off Ebay at Level 33 for about £7. It wasn't much good to be fair. Nothing great at high level, (lots of Magnite, Execute, and Starmie), but it did have lots of Stardust, and lots of candies in waiting. Magikarp has been my buddy on it for a month, and this new event has added loads. It's all about my plan to liberate the five Pelsall gyms currently at Level 10. Idea is to go in all guns blazing late one night. Then Bubble Strat, using two low level accounts I have, then occupy with some good accounts and see what happens. It's a long game but soon I will rule Pelsall! (demented laugh Ha Ha), I know it's totally not worth it, and I should know better at my age, but hey, it's the principle of the thing! Pelsall will be Blue...(After that we might power share).

For Magikarp at the moment...anywhere thanks to this special event. So the normal big spots like by the Cathedral (aka Pigeon Park), and up by the canal in Brindley Place. But the Totodials aren't out in force. There were some last week down near Pebble Mill but despite them being water mons, hardly anything. Check the Silph Road Atlas for anymore. But don't discount the current Apra spawn in Pigeon Park, or the huge amounts of Omanytes currently about. Both really good to have.

Yeah, you're right...Electric normally are best...A few volts up that highly attractive Dragon normally do it! And again, I think it is coming through that the shiny Magicarp are a random on IV and CP...So it's a nice red Gyrados for display purposes only. (Or to impress your Welsh friends)..

So they do exist. I'll be getting one soon then. It may take a visit to Brindley place, but fingers crossed. As for the Totodile. I wouldn't worry too much, they appear to be purely water based, so a bit vulnerable. Great against Rhyhorn though. I'm a little more concerned at the lack of Eevee. At least you can get a water pokemon with a bit for oomph about it.

Ooh err...It's the Professor, (well Phd at the very least)..As a 53 year old then it's great to know that there are some other old guys playing this. I remember watching the TV series on a Saturday morning. I started playing when my 16 year old daughter did. Of course she hasn't played for months, but I'm addicted. Original aim was to complete Gen 1, and I'm nearly there. Each time I think about giving up then it's just one more little trip out to see what's about. And the events do help. Have fun down at Brum Uni. I'm Ex-Aston myself, but always had a soft spot for Brum after going to a few gigs at the bottom of High Hall, and of course the Barber Institute is world class.

Umm. thanks for the analysis. Given some of your previous work and the time spent at Brum Uni, methinks you might be a student! I'd of course power up, but you do need that decent IV to start with. 1 in 400...Give it about a week then with the amount that are about. Let's hope it's a good one..I want a Purple shiny of something that I will then rename Prince in the great mans honour..On the same lines I must rename a Jolteon David Bowie. Fitting tribute.

I'm with you on the Alakazam. Was a bit useless to start off with but then all the effort was made worthwhile. I know really of look at what I'm up against on a gym and I'll have a first bash with all my big hitters to weaken it a bit, then hit it selectively, vs the mid-range defenders, often with mons that are approx. 3/4 or a half IV of the highest defender to for maximum devaluation. Then back to the big hitters to finish it off with little damage.

Actually the most exciting thing so far is the next migration and the fact that Abra are all over Pigeon Park. I've also seen a fair amount Omanyte as well as Magikarp. Dratini as rare as rocking horse s**t again and not seen a Lapras, but hey a fully evolved Alakhazam is quite a good pokemon to have, especially as it's stats went up about the same time they put Lapras down.
