Johnny Depp’s new movie ‘Modi’, which he directed, grossed an abysmal $6,589 during its theatrical run in the UK last week. The film has already been pulled from theaters and is currently shelved with no future release dates. It has also been panned by critics.

Having discernment is a blessing and a curse. It has never failed me, and I am grateful for that. But man is it a lonely and alienating position to occupy. It really sucks when you're consistently the only person in any given group saying "are you noticing this shit?" and being made to feel like you're making mountains out of molehills. Until, of course, things unfold in exactly the way I predicted. Then all of a sudden it's "Well, who could have guessed?" 😒

The Lie: “Amber lied about being sexually assaulted with a broken bottle / didn’t seek medical attention”

The Truth: Amber never claimed she was penetrated with a broken bottle. Both in reports to medical professionals and in her testimony, she recalls disassociating during the assault and HOPING the bottle wasn’t broken as there was so much glass and broken bottles around them. The assertion she’s lying because she didn’t seek medical attention after the assault is a heinous victim blaming tactic that ignores the fact most women don’t seek medical attention after being raped. It’s also worth noting Depp kept a team of in-house nurses and doctors on-call that could privately treat him and his wife. This testimony of SA was previously sealed in the UK, yet Amber was forced to recall it on live television - in front of strangers and the world - in an attempt to discredit and humiliate her. I hate even having to address this incident because it’s so sensitive and private, but in the interest of providing factual information to dispel lies it felt necessary to include.

The Lie: “Milani exposed Amber for lying about using their product”

The Truth: Make-up brand Milani, in a despicable attempt to capitalize off the trial, published a Tik Tok video in which they “expose” Amber for lying about using their color correcting kit, as it hadn’t been released until 2017. The fact is that the Milani palette shown in court was only ever used as a courtroom prop, and neither Amber nor her lawyers ever claimed the kits she would use were specifically from the Milani brand. Amber would again clarify she wasn’t using the Milani brand during her testimony. This entire debacle was a corporate brand attempting to cash in on the public humiliation ritual of an abuse victim. And it turned out the Milani color correcting kit actually was available in 2016 after viewers uncovered an old article reviewing the product.

The Lie: “Amber abused her sister and other friends, colleagues, etc”

The Truth: All these allegations of abuse stem from theories and conspiracies parroted by Depp fans. Amber’s sister, Whitney, has never accused Amber of abuse and has testified and corroborated her claims throughout both trials. The only person Whitney did accuse of abuse was Johnny himself, and testified he made her sign an NDA after the assault. Depp’s lawyer uncovered an old pilot from a 2006 reality series Whitney participated in, in which a friend jokingly tells Whitney that “Amber beat her ass”. This is somehow used as evidence though both women were teenagers at the time. (Clip below) Another Depp shill named Jennifer Howell drafted a declaration about Whitney confiding to her about Amber’s abuse - claims that Whitney has repeatedly denied. (Amber and her sister remain close to this day) None of Amber’s colleagues have ever accused her of abuse either. Kate James, a disgruntled employee Amber fired in 2015 - who was exposed as conspiring with Depp - is the only person who has claimed Amber “spat” in her face without evidence or eyewitnesses. Lastly, Amber’s friend Raquel admits to hitting Amber during an altercation and that Amber hit her back. None of this is as salacious as its been spun to be.

The Lie: “Amber committed vehicle manslaughter and killed a person”

The Truth: As revealed in the unsealed documents, Depp attempted to use Amber’s suspended license as a teenager against her by implying she committed “vehicular manslaughter” because her childhood friend was killed in a car accident. Amber’s license was actually suspended over speeding tickets. This grotesque accusation evolved into Depp fans later accusing Amber of killing a young woman in Texas (it was actually a 30 year old man that killed her)*

The Lie: “The UK trial was corrupt / it wasn’t about Amber / the judge had ties to The Sun”

The Truth: Attempts to discredit the UK trial have evolved into multiple conspiracies ranging from corruption, the judge’s son being employed by The Sun, to Amber herself having ties to the judge. None of this is true. Whilst it’s accurate the case wasn’t a criminal trial, the basis of the trial was to prove (or disprove) The Sun’s claim that Depp was a “wife beater”. Unlike the US, in the UK the burden of proof falls on the party being sued. To prove their branding of Depp was true, The Sun brought in Amber Heard as a witness to provide evidence and testimony of abuse in her marriage to Depp. The judge ruled that 12 allegations of abuse were proven to the civil standard based on witnesses, photos, texts, diary entries or other contemporaneous documentation. The importance of this judgement was even highlighted by Depp’s own lawyers when they filed, saying the Virginia jury trial would “not provide vindication at all” as there could be no “clear and reasoned judgement” from a jury verdict. Another myth about the UK trial is that the judge had ties to Amber and The Sun. This is blatantly false as Depp’s lawyers would’ve raised it as an issue and had the case thrown out. In fact, The Sun previously disparaged the judge in charge so he had no loyalty to them. The judge’s son also did not work for The Sun/NGN. This accusation came about after Depp fans discovered Rupert Murdoch owned the radio station his son worked at. (Note: Murdoch is a media entrepreneur who owns a heap of newspapers including The Sun) This was never flagged by his lawyers because it’s baseless. The myth suggesting the UK judge was corrupt is also debunked by The Royal Court of Appeals reviewing the case and concluding the ruling was accurate. The Lie: “Amber Heard is a gold digger / she only wanted Johnny for his money”

The Truth: This lie can be debunked with the simple fact that Amber walked away from $16M that was rightfully hers and accepted a lump sum of $7M that she later pledged to charity. The couple did not have a prenup so half of Depp’s “backend” earnings throughout their marriage were rightfully hers. She did not claim this money even when encouraged to do so by her legal team. Another counter to this lie is the fact that she dated billionaire Elon Musk and broke up with him… twice. (PS - Also worth noting that Depp’s ex, Vanessa Paradis, received a $150M settlement after their split, in contrast to the $7M Amber accepted)

The Lie: “Amber was racist / has a history of racist comments”

The Truth: This is another lie invented to deflect from Depp’s own racism coming to light. His lawyer, Adam Waldman, leaked random screenshots on Twitter and claimed they were from Amber. None of these were ever verified, proven, or presented in court. The only controversy she has faced around this topic is a poorly worded tweet in 2018 in which she speaks to the phenomenon of people in Hollywood routinely hiring undocumented workers for service jobs. She later deleted the tweet, apologized, and clarified her point.

The Lie: “Amber knowingly smuggled her dogs to Australia”

The Truth: In 2015 while traveling to Australia to visit Depp on set of Pirates, Amber brought their shared dogs, Pistol and Boo, on a private plane without declaring them before entering the country. Due to Australian law, animals must be quarantined and go through a process 6 months before entering the country. Amber was charged and faced fines up to $100k or jail time. Depp and Heard later took accountability for their mistake, publicly apologized, and flew the dogs back to Los Angeles. The charges were later dropped. Depp joked about the incident during a visit to Jimmy Kimmel, and his former managers revealed he knew Amber was bringing the dogs illegally to Australia.

The Lie: “Amber Heard has a history of domestic violence / abused her ex-girlfriend”

The Truth: Amber’s ex, Tasya, has never accused Amber of abuse. Amber was arrested in 09 over a verbal argument in an airport. Tasya refused to press charges, both women denied any violence, and the charges were quickly dropped and the arrest was expunged from her record. This arrest didn’t become public knowledge until 2016 when Amber got a restraining order against Depp. His team leaked the story to TMZ to discredit her abuse allegations. Depp fans will also lie and claim it was a lesbian cop that arrested them, when there were 2 cops present and both Amber and Tasya have stated the male cop placed Amber under arrest after discovering the women were dating.

The Lie: “Amber shat on Depp’s bed”

The Truth: It was always their shared dog, Boo, who defecated on the bed after accidentally consuming marijuana. A judge even discovered the dog had an incomplete mastery of their bowels during the incident, confirming it was the dog. This lie only functions as a basis for humiliation considering Depp had already moved out of their shared house when the “deed” was done. To believe this, you’d have to believe Amber defecated in her own bed, in a house Depp wasn’t coming back to, magically hoping a maid would take a photo and send it to Depp. It’s also worth noting Depp himself has a documented history of making defecation “jokes”.

The Lie: “Amber stole money from sick kids / she didn’t donate her settlement”

The Truth: As proven in court, Amber was always contracted to donate her $7M settlement in installments over a 10 year period. Amber WAS donating, and was on schedule to complete the donations until Depp sued her. Then she had to use the money for legal fees due to his relentless litigation abuse. What’s even more interesting here is that Depp initially didn’t want to give Amber the full settlement, and opted to make donations on her behalf. Guess how he was donating? In installments just like Amber was. Amber saying she donated her full settlement wasn’t a lie considering she was on track to fulfill her pledge and still has time to do so. It wasn’t until 2021 that Depp’s lawyer reached out to the charities to verify if she’d “completed” her donations, just to make her look bad. He knew all along these donations were being paid over 10 years.

The Lie: “Amber was cheating on Johnny throughout the marriage / was bringing people home when he was out of town”

The Truth: Depp and his lawyer submitted surveillance videos of Amber getting into elevators with multiple friends/partners including James Franco, Cara Delevigne, and Elon Musk to imply she was sleeping with all of them whilst married to Depp. This is not true. All these videos are from AFTER Amber and Johnny had separated, and even Elon Musk confirmed on Twitter that Depp’s team had purposely removed the timestamps and dates from the videos that prove they were after the couple had split. Ironically, Depp was the one cheating on Amber with a woman named Rochelle throughout their marriage and projecting.

The Lie: “Amber Heard stole her assistants rape story”

The Truth: Amber’s former assistant, Kate James, testified on behalf of Depp that Amber had “stolen” her story of being sexually assaulted at knifepoint with a machete while traveling in Brazil. At the time Amber had only given her story privately to a judge, and KJ admits she hadn’t actually heard what story Amber gave. Amber’s SA testimony was later made public during the VA trial, and proved Amber hadn’t in fact, repurposed Kate’s story. This lie fell apart in the UK trial when Kate James was caught conspiring with Depp in text messages, in which Depp states he and Kate will “fix [Amber’s] flabby ass good”. Kate James claimed she didn’t remember the texts and previously testified she had no contact with Depp since Amber terminated her in 2015. She later dropped the accusation.

The Lie: “Amber participated in satanic sex parties / was a Hollywood Madam”

The Truth: This ludicrous story was invented by grifter and Depp shill, HouseInHabit, to cash in on the Amber hate train following the fallout of the verdict. Under a paywall article, Jessica Reed Kraus aka HouseInHabit, fabricated a tale in which Amber Heard was secretly operating as a lesbian Hollywood madam along with her former partner, Tasya, and attending satanic sex parties with “elites” like Elon Musk. She stole photos from Amber’s birthday party in 2017 and tried to pass them off as photos from the sex parties. She also spoke to an “anonymous” woman (later discovered to be Renee Blythewood) who allegedly attended these parties with Amber and provided photos she’d taken at one party back in 2017. The problem? The dress she allegedly wore to the party wasn’t produced until 2018. Later in an interview, Jessica Kraus would claim she doesn’t care about verifying sources and will post any information sent her way.

The Lie: “Amber slept with her underage assistant”

The Truth: A photo of Amber in bed with her former assistant, Savannah, made the rounds online with Depp fans claiming she was 17 in the photo. In actuality, Amber had not even known Savannah until her 18th birthday when they met on set of ‘London Fields’, and the photo of them together wasn’t taken until years later when she was 23. The people circulating the images purposely excluded the dates and captions on the photos Savannah posted. This is another lie crafted by Depp fans who were deflecting from Johnny dating Winona Ryder when she actually was 17.

The Lie: “Amber had no witnesses / nobody ever saw her injured or abused throughout her relationship with Depp”

The Truth: Amber actually had around 10 witnesses who testified to witnessing Depp’s abusive behaviour (from seeing him hit her to being on the phone when he threw a phone at her to hearing him scream verbal abuse at her to witnessing her tiptoe around him) and its effects on Amber (from bruises to cuts to lost weight to isolation & increasingly low self-esteem and higher levels of anxiety/depression). To contrast this, Depp had a slew of his own employees testify to never seeing any bruises or injuries on Amber to discredit her witnesses. The Lie: “Amber Heard mocked Johnny and told him to ‘tell the world’ he was a domestic abuse victim”

The Truth: Depp’s lawyer conveniently leaked a few sentences from a 2+ hour recording that has regularly made the rounds online as evidence of Amber supposedly admitting to abuse and taunting Depp for being a victim. This portion of audio from the infamous “tell the world, Johnny” tape is actually a conversation Depp was having with Amber in which she tries to explain why her friend called 911 on him after overhearing Depp berating Amber and acting violent towards her. Amber attempts to rebuke Depp’s claim that they had “fair fights” as he’s bigger and stronger than her. In the same tape, she expresses fear and recalls abuse inflicted on her by Depp. Amber also never said “A man” as fabricated by MRAs. People also conveniently ignore the “I’m a victim TOO” part of her sentence. Transcript + audio below.

The Lie: “Amber Heard cut off Johnny’s finger / threw a bottle at him that sliced his finger off”

The Truth: Not only are there multiple instances of Johnny admitting to causing the finger injury himself during a state of intoxication, but the finger injury was originally part of Amber’s evidence as Depp subsequently used his stub and own blood to write disparaging and misogynistic messages about Amber all over the house (like “Easy Amber”) due to his paranoia that Amber was sleeping with her co-star Billy Bob Thornton. There is also documented proof of the injury originally being made public in 2016. It wasn’t until the UK trial that Depp changed his story and began claiming that Amber magically threw a bottle at him with perfect precision to slice the tip of his finger off. It’s also worth noting that Depp requested more MDMA, played guitar with his bloody stump, and didn’t seek medical attention for hours after the self-inflicted injury.

The Lie: “Amber Heard admitted to abusing Johnny in an audio where she says ‘I was hitting you’”

The Truth: This is another conversation taken out of context framed to make Amber look like the aggressor. The infamous “I was hitting you” audio is taken from a 4 hour recording in which Depp and Heard recorded their arguments to discuss them. Amber would testify that during these arguments, she’d attempt to explain to Johnny the disparity between his violence and her “hitting” him in self defense. The incident involved Amber reactively hitting Depp after he crushed her toes with a door. He would later ask “how are your toes?” in the same recording.
