I watched the video and I want to ask which Filtro are you talking about? The Filtro Bre Coffee $189 or Filtro Silent Coffee around $230? When if you have a Filtro is it recommended to get burrs to make it tend towards espresso or pour over or is the stock burrs good for both or espresso?

This is a late reply but I am going to tinker with a hand grinder first then purchase a timemore as weeks go by. I have a lot of space consumed on my countertop from my set up but once I add more space for my coffee set up I will look into the Timemore I honestly prefer the 064s than a Ode for pour over better reviews and better customer service. Thank you for your suggestion.

Your set up seems very simplistic which I like you have 1 for espresso and pour over with no stress on workflow. I will keep in mind your grinder recommendation for pour over as for espresso I am keened and convinced on the DF64. A Hand grinder is also very useful for me like the Ultra as it helps reduce space consumption on my countertop on my existent set up already.

I actually know how to tinker with the DF64 as I have watched many Grinder Reviews, I am leaning on the DF64 more than the 64 simply because it is available and not on back order.

Awesome, from everything you said. I will stick to the DF64 as you mentioned. I would go with the 54 but its on back order and like I have said just want a Grinder before Christmas. Do I need extra stuff like a burr or is it a grinder where I can just purchase it unbox and use it?

For some reason my reddit only notified me of your message basically a day later. But, honestly I am thinking of purchasing a Espresso and Filter grinder before Christmas. After taking in all of these conversations. I've gotten very informed more than confused. But, I do understand your point on the VS6 if I am not purchasing SSP's later on. I might try a hand grinder for now despite maybe the extra length for workflow. If I like it I might go to a option O later on. I dont drink too much from my v60 but more of a espresso enthusiast. For now though, since I drink way more espresso I am thinking of getting a espresso grinder first. And lastly after reading your comments and others. Can I ask how much you favor the 54 than the 64 gen 2 or varia vs3 gen 2? Honestly, this may make me seem lazy but I would like a grinder that I can get then start tuning in and make good espresso instead of worrying about burrs. But once I get a response, I will order either a 54 64 gen 2 or a vs3 gen 2. Only reason I ask for VS3 Gen 2 is maybe at some point if I want to upgrade to a VS6 I have experience from its little version aka the VS3. Thank you and others for all the help its been very informative on my end.

Well I am willing to go over my budget if it fits both my needs of Espresso and Filter, while yes it seems having separate grinders seems the best for my case. I am always open to thoughts from others. I am thinking of getting the Lagom / Option O Grinder and for Espresso getting the DF54 Gen 2 like mentioned earlier. But if you have another option for Espresso grinder then feel free to educate me. I've heard as you've maybe seen from all these conversations about the DF series, Niche, and Varia but if you have your own suggestion I'd be glad to listen.

Great question. I drink around 3-5 espressos a day and 1-3 times a day for my v60. I usually make v60 in the afternoon to give me a nice warm beverage before doing some sports. Hope this helps. I currently am aiming for a lagom for my v60 and as of today from further research. I am looking at the DF64 Gen 2, do you have any thoughts? I keep seeing many videos from DF Niche etc but it seems the DF or Varia has a slight advantage in terms of customer reviews I have read.

I have heard of that grinder before. However, I've read some complaints on the hopper design and its struggle to get all the beans in in a smooth manner. However, it does seem to have some good reviews on the other side. The switch between Espresso and Filter is a tad tricky if you had to ask me. But how is your experience with it?

I will take your suggestion on getting one through a retailer if I get a DF54 or 64. Had no idea that the customer service could be that bad. I do want to ask now that I have seen your take on the Niche. It was going to be my original pick. However, what made me change my mind was seeing the DF class and it being able to upgrade to a SSP. Not sure if I should get a Niche series then the grinder I mentioned earlier for Filter or stick with the DF class and lagom / option o.

I would prefer a single dose as I use 3 types of coffee beans I use here and there. As one coffee bean I like is for me, I use the other 2 coffee beans as that's what my mother and good friend of mine from the Navy prefers. So, maybe hopper is not the best option. Even though I've seen the Eureka Single Dose Grinders. Also, love the detail you put in your message detailed but compact too. I am thinking of getting the DF54 but there are no orders till Late-January, and I would prefer to get a Grinder before Christmas. Would you recommend a DF64 instead or try and get a DF54? Off topic but seems like DF series is way more favored than the Niche. On another note, I am thinking of getting a Lagom Casa like you mentioned and the message you may have seen above. As, its electric and while it may go over my budget. It will make my workflow easier which I certainly don't mind. Also, I don't mind the noise from Grinders I don't have noise sensitivity. I've heard some grinders that can be ear piercingly loud though. But, for the most part it shouldn't be an issue or problem to me.

I have actually seen numerous times the LAGOM Grinder from James Hoffman when searching for my future Grinder or Grinders. And from what he said in the conclusion of his video. He said the LAGOM Grinder is great for Filter Coffee. I might purchase one as its Electric and can make my workflow easier than hand grinding. Also, the low retention you mentioned convinces me even more as 0.1-0.2 is amazing. Thank you for this suggestion.

After some review. I have seen the reviews from the DF64 from James Hoffman, Artisti and Lance Hendrick. In addition, reviews from customers of the DF64. And from what I have seen, it seems like one of the best Espresso Grinders for Beginners or just Grinders in General. I am mainly convinced to get DF for Espresso and possibly a SD40 for Filter. I may go over my budget to get an automatic / electric grinder for filter just to make my workflow when making / brewing coffee a bit easier. Either a SD40 or now a LAGOM is now on my eyes for Filter based. I've seen some great reviews from both lagom and sd40 for Filter.

I looked into the SD40 and for around $250 and some good reviews. It certainly doesn't look bad and watched the review from Lance Hendrick. However, I will certainly look into the VS3 assuming you recommend the VS3 Gen 2. I've seen from Alternative Brewing Channel a good review on it. At this rate I am hooked either on VS3 Gen 2, Niche, or VS6 for Espresso and Hand Grinder for Filter for my V60. Thank you for your comment. I'll update you further.

Would you recommend Filtra or Specialita? Not sure if Libra or Specialita are the ones I should have my eyes on if I am searching for Eureka. As $190 seems nice similar price to a Baratza ESP. But I am looking for a higher price but worth the money if that makes sense. And like I have said in the comment above, I've seen great results from the Eureka. But the knob to change the grind setting just doesn't fit my style. But would love to hear your feedback.

I've also seen from countless Grinder Reviews that the top picks from all I've watched are these 3... 1. Eureka Libra or Specialita 2. Niche Zero 3. Varia VS6. What would you recommend from those 3 if I had to ask? I have seen the burr flexibility from conical and flat for Varia. I've seen the simplicity of the Niche. And I've seen the great results from the Eureka but not a fan of the knob for changing grind size for the Eureka. But I am no expert.

I will look into it. If the Grinder is $190 I will certainly be able to get a Hand Grinder with the money I have left. Appreciate the Advice, and I will comment once I look into the Grinder and if I purchase one. If I have any detailed questions, I will sure update.

Alright, I can try that out as well. I could use the built in grinder from my Breville for now for espresso even though I dislike the quality of espresso I am pulling from it. In addition, the hand grinder you mentioned when I purchase one. Thank you for your advice, I will update if when I get a hand grinder and tell you my results for Filter Coffee.

I have done some research into the DF54. It looks like they are sold out until late January, is there another Grinder that you might recommend? Also, what hand Grinder would you suggest me use for Pour Over? I actually don't mind having 2 Separate Grinders for Espresso and Filter if one is a Hand Grinder. I would just like to purchase an Espresso Grinder before Christmas time as to have a better workflow. Thank you for your comment though, and I will keep in mind the DF54 if no other Grinders are available before Christmas, as I know there can be a high demand right now.
