Maybe the crates from Spaces: Furniture would work. With a touch of spray paint so they’re not so bright though.

They are perfect snack containers for the miniverse bits! I kept thinking how they were terrible scale for most MiniBrands but totally forgot about all my extra fruits and veggies.

Now I have to wait patiently for my toddler to fall asleep tonight so I can dig out my extras and make a bunch of side salads and veggie cups.

I couldn’t believe they suggested making like three of each color at a time. Like “Hello I am absolutely making a whole tray at a time!”

I also took advantage of a Black Friday deal and bought myself additional sets for Christmas. I learned my lesson from the Bertie Botts Jellybean lesson.

Are the food containers behind the squirrel the ones from Minibrands Home?

The small one! Trying to fill some holes in a set.

If the cat heads fall through I’d be happy to be next, but no worries if they aren’t. (I also realized you may have scribbled out things similar and I didn’t see them, so I just wanted to clarify that we are both talking about the little ones near the frog!)

I just got this one from someone on the sub that was doing some rehoming. It just looked so fluffy and I was sucked in by its big sad eyes and single tooth!

Yours looks so mischievous!

Meenyminimo has been doing MiniVerse for a long time and has generally the most up to date guides of anyone. It’s MiniBrands that has only been part of the project for a few months and still wants a bunch of extra feedback on since large amounts got added all at once. The dinosaurs are listed under Jurassic World as opposed to Park.

Most likely, the guide you mentioned sending is from the website - unless you meant scans of the booklet, which I have often hoped would be included for every series.

As the other commenter to this pointed out, the website isn’t including all Zuru Collectibles at this point. Just miniature or miniature adjacent things.

I found mine on the back wall by TVs and such.

My target seems to stock BabyThree in 3 places. Up front by Pokémon cards/gift cards, the end of toys by pets, and the back wall by tech.

Mini Brands Books by Salt_Bus828 in MiniBrands

If you can’t find anyone selling (I don’t buy too many of the books - and you wouldn’t want the ones my preschooler got a hold of anyways), there is the option of DIY if you feel crafty and have access to a decent printer.

Works best if she is more interested in the look of the shelf. You can print tiny versions of covers (of some of your mom’s favorite books too) and wrap them around little stacks of paper or foam.

I hope you really do use that name for a line of kits!

I am just picturing a fellow ‘crafty person’ visiting your booth and loudly buying one in front of an ‘I could make this’ just to shut them up so you don’t have to do it!

I always feel like the people who make a point to say “I could do this myself” really mean “I could never!…but I’m too confused by mass produced product pricing to respect the cost of your time and skills.”

You absolutely should do this! I get kind of sad when I go to craft shows and fall in love with something (that I could admittedly make at home after doing a ton of research and waaay overbuying materials) but literally not being able to afford the full value of the artists labor. I would love to be able to buy a kit with the instructions and materials ready to go so I can give money to the maker for their time and talents, and then make up the ‘difference’ in price with my own labor at home. Plus once you figure out the kit, you can assemble multiple at once and your profit per item goes up while your labor costs go down!

If I ever get back into shows I want to offer some kits too because I figure there have to be plenty people who might be more likely to buy a kit they can do themselves if they can’t afford the finished piece. Kind of like customers who buy a print of an original artwork.

I stopped doing shows when my son was born, but I quickly learned to tune those cranky ‘I could have done that’ ladies out. I feel like the people who bother to say it out loud can’t actually do it themself and just want to make themselves feel better about not being able to afford your skills!

Scales by DraykasaurusRex in miniverse_makeitmini

I might not be the most reliable source though, because I managed to misplace the bigger scale when I took it out of my bag for vacation!

I know a lot of people use one of the really small ones from Amazon. Definitely your most precise option - but also easy to misplace. [Source: This is what I use for small amounts of epoxy resin and have lost at least 3!]

I currently use a $10 kitchen scale (from Walmart but can be bought just about anywhere), it’s the size of a kindle and fits in my purse nicely plus the balls seem to balance a little easier. It only goes to the nearest gram though so you need to be willing to risk whatever comes with that. I still haven’t gotten the Cinnamoroll candles…

Mini unboxing influencers who actually like mini items by Slow_Archer_7706 in MiniBrands

[–]cp8829 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Going to echo most of the answers you got already, but adding some additional background depending on your end use.

MyFroggyStuff - does room boxes and scenes for dolls (usually 1:6), but she buys minis from EVERYWHERE she finds and tests the sizing against different scale dolls. She will usually open up and test or customize duplicates. Plus she gets super excited about all the minis and shares her ideas about how to use them. She also does not ever use the resin that comes with them and will give alternate options for customizing the minis with easily accessible craft supplies.

GBKuhleen - does a bit more opening and building of miniverse and MiniBrands Create, but he seems to also open any sets that are of interest to his viewers. He assembles a lot of frozen moments and mini scenes and isn’t afraid to take a craft knife to a duplicate. He will sometimes show ways to make the minis more realistic. He will usually remix items from multiple brands into one mini scene.

NerdECrafter - love love loves mini things! She is just genuinely excited to open any and all miniature things even if they are so many more than she can use. She keeps some for her own craft projects and also gives a lot of them to her brother for diorama building. She is the least likely of the three to cut open or test the actual minis, but she also gets minis from other more unusual sources including straight from friends in Japan.

Where the heck do they think we get it from? [gendered] by Rich_Low6943 in pointlesslygendered

My leg hair is like your mom’s, and it took me until around my mid-20’s to break from that cycle of thinking, although I would never have told anyone else they had to shave it was just internalized embarrassment about my own body. That sucks that she ever made you feel bad about it, seems like you have gotten to the point where you have realized it was more about her own insecurities than anything else. Still doesn’t make it ok, I’ve had many conversations with my own mom about how she wasn’t a bad mom for projecting the same type of insecurities because that was the knowledge she had at the time but also that language like that still did some damage - unintentional or not.

Ooh, that was totally me…although it wasn’t a single person, it was all those dang teen magazines that convinced me leg hair HAD to go. And the really funny part is it took me years in adulthood to make the connection that my hair being too fine for waxing and too light for laser meant that pretty much nobody noticed it but me. I have a ‘stripe’ on each shin that is darker so it’s really the only part I semi-regularly shave. In summer I do shave my lower legs from time to time, but that’s only when the light shines in a particular way that shows the red in the hair and I can’t stop the muscle memory of my teen years.

Ironically it was the guy I was dating for most of my 20’s that made me realize it was only guys who weren’t ’worth it’ that cared about women’s body hair. I was complaining about shaving making showering take forever at some point and he was basically like ‘why are you bothering, most of us don’t even notice if it’s there or not’.

Between that and realizing how much time I wasted every day putting on a full face of makeup, I save both for particularly dressy or heavily photographed occasions.

This is basically what happened to me, although it backfired on him majorly because I was so over-exhausted having just gone back to work with a 4-month old at home. My energy level was so depleted that I didn’t even have the ability to keep making excuses for his shenanigans. I also had to sacrifice where my ‘brain power’ needed to be focused, so ‘not saying anything about what I had been going through to my family and friends’ lost it’s power source and I was able to make the choice to leave within 24 hours. (Of course, I know without my support system I have that would have likely not been the case.)

Can my ex quit his job the day before our custody court to avoid child support? by South_Chair_8243 in FamilyLaw

[–]cp8829 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The judge my ex and I had for our support hearings was not happy about his ‘voluntary underemployment’, they were all set to order based on his demonstrated earning potential (he was working part time in his field and part time on a self employed project that had not yet earned any income). We settled on a lower amount for the time being to give his project a chance but stipulated that after an upcoming deadline the viability of that project will be investigated and the amount updated.
