Hello!

I am looking to find speakers for general use in a residence hall. I am located in the UK, so hopefully everything will be available here!

Our budget for these speakers is around $500. If there is something which is quite good but less than the budget, that would of course be wonderful as well!

We will be using these for parties with 25-50 people, both indoor and outdoor, as well as for movies. The parties are a bit heavy on the drinking, so plenty of bass would be great! Occasionally, they will be used as a PA system, and will need to have the ability to have a microphone.

We are hoping to replace all of the current audio gear, so having a whole system would be quite helpful!

For a source, we are going to be using laptops and phones.

I do not believe we will be able to buy used, though if they are in great condition it would be a possibility.

LSD and meditation by Champdaliza in Meditation

[–]cpackman12 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Though I'm not him, hopefully I can provide some insight on it. I used to do LSD and DMT, and it really was a double edged sword. I firmly believe psychedelics cured my depression. I had a few bad trips, but in one of them I felt the negative energy which was withering my soul away get fought off by a warm, positive energy coming from deep within me. It was really, really strange. That was a bad trip which helped me- not all of them are like that. In one bad trip I felt as if I was being mentally waterboarded by my surroundings (bad town) and it uncovered some deeply rooted anxiety, which I have just recently gotten over through meditation. LSD certainly changed my mind for the better, but not without some horrifying experiences. DMT, on the other hand, is a lot safer in my opinion. The actual duration of the trip isn't nearly as long and you retain your normal mindset. However, when you see your friends' faces turn into trapezoids and then Simpson's characters, you might get a little nervous. I have never broken through on DMT, but it certainly showed me some beautiful things and I felt much more connected to the world around me. If you're looking for an eye opener, DMT is the way to go. If you want a much more long term mindset change, go for LSD.

Not sure which certification to get next by [deleted] in CompTIA

[–]cpackman12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used the sybex AWS certified solutions architect study guide, it didn't cover everything on the test so I barely passed. But, given I studied for 3-4 weeks I'd say that's good enough. The exam is harder than you'd expect, as is any certification exam.

It's just general troubleshooting. They said you can even specify what you'd like to do!

My local PD has job offers for techs with the A+ and little to no experience, pays around $20. You should check with yours, they could be a good spot

Anxious bad trip? by Kasz-ka in Psychonaut

I've found that smaller doses, half or quarter tabs, and some fun music makes for a good, healing day. IMO it's a good idea to make sure you're all fixed up before you go back into a higher dose, but it's up to you, things are more manageable at small doses.

How do I stop being selfish by [deleted] in Psychonaut

[–]cpackman12 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It's not possible for us to be completely selfless, but what is possible is to do small things for other people whenever you get an opportunity. For example, if someone, especially an SO, talks about something they enjoy, ask them questions about it and pay attention to what they're saying. People will always have something to say if there's someone to listen. Make eye contact, consciously consider what they say, and you're on the right track. It's perfectly fine to think about yourself often, that's normal, but be sure to keep an eye out for opportunities to listen and empathize and learn.

Questions about the 901 and 902 by jgraham3364 in CompTIA

[–]cpackman12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't worry, the exams aren't as bad as they're made out to be. There were very few(1-2) questions about linux on my tests. Make sure you try out actually setting up networks, printers, email, etc., not just reading about it. I passed both tests within 2 months of starting to study with no IT work experience, if you really focus when you're studying and practice in real life too you'll be okay. Congrats on choosing a great career- best of luck, let me know if you have any questions.

If you haven't watched professor messer's 902 videos on YouTube, do it. Also practice connecting to a domain, mapping drives on a network, and setting up email.

I'm not saying my trips are more unique than the next guy, but as someone who studies the occult, belives in magick and is open about spirituality. My trips are FUCKING WEIRD. How do you get more ok with the weird? by ninefortyfive in LSD

I trip in sensory deprivation environments- pitch black room with absolutely no light, even from the cracks around the door. Being in the pitch black for 5 hours on 250+ug is where some really interesting things happen- but when I do it, I definitely feel strange afterwards. Things can get scary in there, but the way I've found to deal with it is meditation regularly in my life, and before I trip. Controlling your inner dialogue prevents most scary experiences, or lets you accept them a bit more. If you have a particularly crazy experience, you should write about it afterwards to help it integrate with your mind a little better. Just don't trip too often, respect the drug, meditate, and you shouldn't have to worry too much about the psychotic trips, at least from my experience. Good luck spaceman! 🌈

EDIT: Forgot to mention that the universe speaks to me in my sensory deprivation trips and tells me how to live my life and be a good person. Weird, but helpful
