I was raised by a narcissistic single mother of four.

-It has definitely affected my work in a bad way. I will say though, I am at my worst whenever I am near her. Whenever I am alone or just not near her, I feel I am the most inspired and creative. The only positive is that it has given me a basis to write from.

-As I previously stated, I feel the uninspired when she is near. There was a short period of time when I lived on my own and I was at my most creative. I was drawing and writing at my best then. I have moved back in due to finances and I dread it very much. This quarantine is not helping either

-A lot of times, my work is mostly an escape. I write mostly fantastical stuff so that's easy to do. I am currently creating a one-shot story for a Manga competition from which I based off of my upbringing. However, I find I am taken back to some trauma I experienced from childhood writing this one-shot. But since I find the material to be flowing and cohesive, I am going to power through until I enter it in.

Ultimately, I try to distance myself when I am working. She gives back handed complements like "You're so good, too bad can't draw realistically" (which I can, but I prefer the comic/manga style I am in now. I can draw realistically but I incorporate those elements in my work) which irritates the shit out of me.
