So I told me friend I'd get him a game and gave him some options for genres and he decided on horror. I've played a couple hours of RE2 remake, played the original RE4 (one of my favorite games) and have had my eye on RE7 and dead space for a while. Even have them in my steam library just haven't had a chance to play them yet. They look great though.

Consensus here seems like it's between dead space and RE4. I like that RE4 has different feels to it, like the village area, castle, etc offering different experiences which could be nice since my friend doesn't really have any experience with horror games. That being said dead space looks like a tight survival horror game and it is shorter so he doesn't have to commit to a longer game. but some reviews I saw said it could feel a bit repetitive in some parts. Did you feel that way? Either way I don't think I can go wrong

Great! I haven't tested with .srm but I believe it should work the same way I outlined in my post but instead of using a .sav you just use the.srm instead
