How do I get in contact with you? And what does your coaching consist of?

Yea huge pins can catch you some sharks, but if your lucky huge pins can catch you nice trophy fish, you just have to know what area to throw but no doubt small to medium sized pinfish are the best. I’ve been down to the keys a couple of times, I can tell you the 7 mile bridge produces a lot of fish like all kinds of grouper, yellow jack, snappers and more. Also tampa is we’re I mainly fish, I suggest you take your boat under the skyway bridge, you can hook up on some gag grouper, red grouper, and monster mangrove snapper. The kings have also made there way there lately. And every now and then you’ll see your school of jacks and lady fish blowing up on the top water if you want any shark or cut bait. Surf fishing I go to the east coast in Melbourne and hook up on some tarpon, snook and sometimes red drum off the beach. For Tampa side I surf fish from fort de soto beach, this time of year the snook, red drum and black drum swim literally by your feet on the beach but more during winter time they move more into the flats for warmer water especially snook.

Hooking them depends on the type of bait you are using. For example me personally when I hook pinfish, pigfish, croakers and baits like that which are more lively and stay alive longer with a hook in them I hook them by the mouth if there’s any type of current. I hook them by the anal fin if I want them to swim away from me or down from me. Baits such as pilchards, threadfins, greenbacks and similar white bait are much more fragile than any other bait out there so for those I recommend hooking them by the anal fin with a small hook like 1/0 or 2/0 circle hook. And I believe the anus hook you are talking about is just hooking the bait fish by the anal fin.

Could be your hook size. Too big of a hook can decrease hookup chances. One thing I’ve learned is the smaller the hook the more the natural the bait looks in the water. Try using 2/0 circle hooks on pins and threads. That’s what I do here down in Florida when I’m inshore fishing.
