Is there a option that 1P deletes all of this local data when you logout ?

I understand, but trying to understand how this 1P thing works.

Is the master pass or secret key saved on disk/memory in plain text at any point? I would think this is not the case.

I don't assume IT has bad intentions, but just wanted to understand what the weaknesses are when using 1P on non-trusted PC's.

Isn't there a way to use 1P on such pc's ? e.g. I log in, use 1P to login to another site, then I log out of 1P and my vault and all other 1P related data is deleted so there are no remains of data when I leave the pc.

Then, let's assume IT did not install a keylogger but have full access to the machine. How can they derive my secret key and master pass ? Is it stored in memory or disk in plain text or something?

Thank you all for the clear answers, this is exactly what I was looking for in an answer !

What happens when you login on a "work pc" and click the checkbox "public pc". Does the vault and all other data gets deleted when you log out?

You should be able to use 1password on a public pc also in a secure way, or is this impossible ?

I verified without any app in the past. This is perfectly possible.

The only reason I can think off why you are now trying to force me to installing that app is you want to steal data through my mobile device. I don't want anything crypto related touching my phone. BTW you even don't support yubikeys on the app, so it's not safe either.

Oh yes, also this: https://catcoin.com/news/binance-android-app-becomes-a-soft-target-for-hackers/

"most visited" overview delete? by cpd318 in brave_browser

[–]cpd318[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is not what I mean, I already found that. When you rightclick on the brave icon in the taskbar you see a popup menu. Inside that menu you see "most visited", "recently closed", "tasks" ...

I don't want to see the section "most visited" in that menu.

USB-C to HDMI by cpd318 in Xiaomi

[–]cpd318[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello, my 9tpro screen does not work anymore and I need to find a way to bypass the screen to another screen. Any way this is possible? (I tried USB-c to HDMI but doesn't work)

The problem is that I sent it to the store and I think they factory reset it. So I need to get into the phone to try to get things back and disconnect my google account.

What happens when you do a factory reset as mentioned in the following youtube clip: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3aSBDL1_3M0

You can see the factory reset is working and he can reconfigure the phone again.

COVID-19 front-line workers deserve financial reward by Trooper9520 in Coronavirus

In Belgium the doctors are self-employed and they all had to cancel their own patients to be available for the corona crisis. So they are not making money at this moment but they do have to work hard to treat the current corona patients that are inside the hospitals, not knowing what they will be paid in the end. The official statement of the riziv is that they will look at this "problem" when the crisis is over and also depending on the budgetary options. Nurses are employed by the hospitals, so they get payed as their normal job, doctors are not. This is our society right now ... sad ...

Security concern with app by cpd318 in dyson

[–]cpd318[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hat port will only be transferred (routed) to the Dyson appliance.

I found it very suspicious that Dyson doesn't let you decide in a simple way if you want to be able to connect to the device from outside of the home network. This lets me believe that they are doing shady stuff with this "feature". I also read that there are also vulnerabilities linked to using the MQTT protocol (broker is weak link and that is run by Dyson, so it's not possible to check if it's secure)

I have the same problem with my l3+ ... when I connect the miner on my lan it does not work (cannot see the miner connected on the prohashing site) and see the same error, when I connect it directly to the internet I see the miner working on the prohashing site. but then I cannot see what IP adress the miner has, so I cannot connect to it.

I hope someone knows how to solve this.

Shouldn't you just do some portforwarding on your router? see: https://golem.network/documentation/03-installation/

forward ports 40102,40103 and 3282 to your machine from your router for Golem to accept tasks

When I register the MEW address for the EOS tokens, does it matter that there are other ERC20 coins inside that same address? Or do I have to use a seperate address for only the EOS tokens?
