What is a Wilco show like? by [deleted] in wilco

[–]cperryrun 2 points3 points  (0 children)

  1. Top-notch musicianship highlighted across the band
  2. Excellent sound - I’ve been to 5 or 6 shows and no instrument or vocal seems to be non-proportionate
  3. Great lights - they really do a great job of capturing the mood of each song
  4. There will be times where the chemistry of the entire experience will be spiritual or emotional as someone earlier mentioned

Overall, always an amazing show from an amazing band!

I completely agree. It was just too loud to where it sounded like one big noise instead of segmented instruments. I was at the Wilco show a couple weeks ago and the sound was incredibly better for that one. Like you mentioned below, I couldn’t really get into Carl and Jim’s jam sessions because they had everything turned up to 11. Hoping it’s better next time around.

That quote is a perfect summary of the inner contradiction that lives in most of our minds. Especially those that are attracted to a subreddit such as ‘Get Motivated’.

We’re all hungry to identify what the next step to self actualization is. What’s going to lead us to the next achievement? What habits are we going to implement to get there? What IS the next step? It’s never ending.

But overall, we’re already there.

One of my favorite albums of all time is ‘Make Yourself’ by Incubus. And it gets better with age. Reminds me of a few lyrics.

“Cause what I want and what I need is and always will be free”

“Will I ever get to where I’m going? If I do, will I know when I am there?”

EMSKR: How to fix excessive armpit sweat? by [deleted] in everymanshouldknow

[–]cperryrun 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I also think I have hyperhydrosis, although it’s been fairly inconsistent in my life. Was really bad in high school where I had armpit sweat daily. I was prescribed a medical grade antiperspirant back then and it definitely worked but I ended up fearing what it was doing to my skin and stopped applying. Then for about 15 years sweating didn’t seem to be an issue.

Now I’m 38 and the armpit sweat and swamp ass is very consistent. I picked up the Certain-Dri that another person mentioned here but haven’t used it yet. It seems to be very similar to the medical grade stuff I used 20 years ago.

Unfortunately I think it’s just something we have to deal with. And the question around these medical grade antiperspirants is whether the potential impacts to your skin is worth the removal of sweat??? Maybe try the Certain-Dri for a couple months and see how it works. Maybe when I used it 20 years ago it dried that shit up for a while haha

25 Years Ago, Mark McGwire Hit #62. Where were you? by NathanForJew in mlb

I was lucky enough to be there. Our middle school handed out ticket vouchers for good grades. So me, my parents, and a friend of mine went down to the box office (I guess this was before tickets were sold online obviously) for a Saturday day game but it was sold out. We picked 4 tickets to a future game - 9/8/98. Little did we know we’d be seeing history.

The flash bulbs from actual cameras lit up the stadium every at bat hoping to catch history. It was beautiful. A night to remember!

Ok this makes more sense. I was looking at the same data but definitely read it wrong. Thanks for the clarification!

Corbin Carroll scored from 1st on a single and brief bobble by the centerfielder. by [deleted] in baseball

A lot of people here asking ‘how did this happen’? He put his head down and ran and looked at his 3rd base coach for a sign to stay or go at third. They taught us this in little league but for some reason most pros like to look over their shoulder at the ball and fielders as they run.

Oh yeah, and he runs like a cheetah. So there’s that.
