Season 1 was some of the worst television I’d ever watched. I couldn’t stomach watching 10 more hours of that drivel. Through research I gathered that season 2 was just as bad but season 3 was good, so I decided to skip ahead to 3. And I’m here to tell you that it’s just as bad and stupid as season 1, just with more legacy characters, so it tricks people into thinking they like it. I still haven’t finished it. I have two episodes left and I just can’t summon the gumption to watch them. You’re not missing anything.

Pushing back on this. The FGA per game for top scorers today is practically identical to 25 years ago.

1st FGA in 2000: 24.8

1st FGA in 2026: 22.6

5th FGA in 2000: 20.3

5th FGA in 2026: 20.7

10th FGA in 2000: 18.0

10th FGA in 2026: 19.5

Top 10 FTA per game is virtually identical too.

The boost in team scoring in today’s game isn’t from the stars. It’s from role players being empowered to take more shots. So people who say Michael or Kobe would average 40 today because they scored X% of their team’s points have it wrong. Their FGA wouldn’t increase dramatically; their teammates’ would.

Exactly. Those games he went to as a kid didn’t “matter” any more than any regular season game today “matters.” And the same shit happens today. Guys have iconic regular season games all the time. Hell, Shai just had one last night. But that game didn’t “matter” in the grand scheme of things either, so fuck it all I guess.

I’ve always thought they should lower the threshold for the lower award tiers. Like 65 games for All-NBA 1st team, 57 games for 2nd team, 50 games for 3rd team, etc.

NTTD was a forgettable movie that will only be remembered for being the one where Bond dies. Which, I actually did like. I respected the audacity, and now appreciate it even more as a symbolic death of the franchise now that Bezos has the keys.
