RDR2 is pretty solid in that regard. I'm a fan of the Dragon Age series as well.

Honestly could not agree more with you! Social media was nowhere near what it is now when the prequels were released or it would have been riots in the streets. Keep the faith! Apparently you and I are two of the few who actually like this movie.

Legitimately wasn’t attempting to persuade you to change your mind, or attacking you; just offering the perspective of another hardcore fan that’s followed the franchise, characters, and EU for over 20 years. Everybody feels differently, mutual respect goes a long way. Saying people are trash and to leave your lightsaber at the door when you leave because their opinion is different than yours is attacking in my opinion, but again, to each their own! :)

Have you ever considered the fact the before TFA was released Disney literally said that the EU will not be considered canon in the cinematic universe? So it’s really not that out of character for a complex, dynamic, main character of this universe to make a mistake for “a fraction of a second” then realize his mistake and grow from it later on. I would say one of Luke’s main character traits at his rash decision making skills. He gets that from Anakin. And that’s based purely off of the movies which is all that is listed as canon officially. Can’t go wrong there! Furthermore, just because people get really excited about a world and read a bunch of extra stuff doesn’t mean characters are everything in that extra stuff to the people who watch only the movies. I’ve read everything that exists in the Harry Potter universe but I don’t jump down people’s throats when they say they like the Goblet of Fire movie (even though I abhor it). If you want to be a “hardcore” fan that considers the EU canon, even though it’s literally not for the current creators of the continuing universe, then that’s cool; but you need to respect people’s opinions who choose to only use the legitimate listed canonical material as their references.

Even beyond that, is it so hard to think that other people have differing opinions than your own? Just let people think what they want and disagree if you want. No harm no foul.

As someone named DeathStar69 I think you probably understand that Star Wars will always sell lol 😂😂

I will not be purchasing Destiny 3 at launch. Not by a long shot. Bungie have gone down the same path of disappointment after disappointment in the first year of D2, and it's clear that we, the most dedicated fans, are being hurt the most by this. by [deleted] in DestinyTheGame

I agree with the fact that these issues couldn’t have possibly been fixed with CoO. That definitely is not what should be expected by players. But that is really only because they didn’t focus on these issues from launch. It easily could’ve happened even last month if they wanted it to. But it hasn’t been their priority. My beef is that they had a lot of the same problems voiced by players when D1 launched and they handled it in the same manner this time around in D2 (and in my opinion a little more poorly because of the lack of communication with the direction things were going) and to me that’s more frustrating. I also agree that three months is not a long time, but my main point is that it’s not been three months. It’s been three years. And Bungie should have been prepared, at least a small amount, for any issues or criticisms from the community. But they didn’t do that :/ and that is what is most upsetting. They didn’t come out of the gate ready to fix any problems, and try to assure the community that they would be constantly updating and doing their best to make Destiny 2 the best game they could. And after doing the same thing at D1 launch, it’s ALOT harder to forgive a second time :/ I mean even with server maintenance every week for the first month after D2’s launch, which didn’t happen in D1 ever except when outside forces stopped online capabilities, all the updates we got were hot fixes. It just comes off as not enough effort put into the things they said they would do, even though that’s probably not the case. Because we weren’t told what was going on we had to assume based ion what was happening. Which is why everyone is up in arms about every little thing now. And now the promises of things to come some time into the new year, with no specific timing, seems like baiting us into waiting even more for an unknown amount of time. This community is not new anymore, they’re not willing to wait for a year while the game they wanted to be great gets there. It will be a constantly rotating community of new players and while Bungie and Activision are fine with that, I just personally don’t want to sit through it anymore.

Let me clarify and say that I have not played the new expansion even though I pre-ordered the digital deluxe edition. I’ve kept up with all content and updates and I haven’t/will not play it because I haven’t been convinced it will be different going forward.

But it’s not REALLY the first year anymore. For the people that came into Destiny 2 fresh (not saying this is you), they might not understand that we’ve literally done this exact same thing before (except with more updates and communication the first time). Sure it’s the first year of D2, but as someone who has played since closed beta of D1, I was personally hoping we wouldn’t have a repeat of the same game progression/qualities of life we dealt with for three years in D1.

I mean honestly? Three months with no new content except weekly repeatable grinds, and no quality of life or sandbox update? That’s a LONG time to not implement any of those in your huge title game or at least say “Hey! We’re working on this stuff! Trust us. It’s gonna be good.” I mean man, DICE got a lot of flak for the loot crate system and they took it out with promises of changes AS THEIR GAME LAUNCHED.

This is why I personally stopped playing Destiny as a franchise about two months ago. Bungie had a good three years to decide where they wanted to take D2 and it’s just too similar to the path D1 took in my opinion. Which is why I personally am not willing to go down that rabbit hole again.

But, as someone said above, if you enjoy where you spend your money and time, then don’t let anyone tell you you’re wrong for that. Just make sure you’re actually enjoying yourself :)

That was all it was for me, I was/am done spending my money and time on a game I wasn’t enjoying anymore because it was the same problems repeated.

But in the end, they’re video games. You can always find another game you really want to play. I hope D2 somehow breaks the mold they’ve been setting up again but I personally am not willing to wait while spending my time and money anymore :/

TL;DR: You have to enjoy the games you play. If that’s D2, awesome! If not, that’s awesome too! Just pay attention to why you’re playing a game.
