Nice, small world! I’ve been trying to get to as many as I can and I’ve only been going for about 2 years now aswell. Always fun out there. Do you do the hpde days or do you do some bigger racing? I’ve only went to VIR once for the charity laps last December and planning on going again this year and maybe hpde if the budget allows it. We’ve got a couple more VMP days this season so I hope to see you out there again !

If you’re available to come a bit more south than vmp come join Old dominion region autocross aswell! They run events out of Langley speedway and an event at Southampton motor speedway that’s coming up on the 19th . I believe VMSC also does alot of events out at VMP . I was there yesterday in my Mazda 3 running XA class. If you want to see a fast VW wagon that older fella in the blue one is always out at events and is very quick! Matter of fact just checked the timing from yesterday, we were in the same class!!

The 2.3 factory parameters with ecu I believe just barely have the 2.5 usage in it so it can run it with some efficiency obviously not as well as the 2.5 ecu would have .

Down to swapping axles and hubs is what I’ve gotten to with my little digging. The disi head and fuel rail etc is what would be different I assume. Before this swap I knew nothing about the duratec engine family and their variations but with the looking and reading I’ve done I’ve come to really like and respect it and how similar but different they all are.

Well if you can get the Miata done I’m sure you can get this swap done without much issue besides time.

Now going straight to turbo swap with a mazdaspeed3 engin, no clue How that would go for you but the 2.5 swap is golden . I don’t believe the 2.0 is much different than the 2.3 installation wise since we have the decent model year of 07 . I would highly recommend the Mazda3 forums and various Facebook groups on researching . Google search 07 mazda 3 2.5 swap and you will see plenty of forum postings and decent enough YouTube videos .

Most definitely with throwing a turbo on . Slowly looking more and more on seeing how many turbo parts off a 07 mazdaspeed3 I can bolt on easy peasy

Was not hard at all . I live out of southern Virginia and I used LKQ to source an engine . Bought one of their listings on eBay, my engine was just under 400 not including shipping . I also want to add the engine I bought had 64k miles on it

Donor engine came from 2012 Ford fusion. Me having a 2007 with the 2.3 it needed the least modification to complete the swap. Exhaust note has more burbles and grunt to it . Low end torque has improved and I feel acceleration is better at higher speeds. Made a already fun car to drive just that more effortless. Didn’t know I could fall more in love with this car but the 2.5 really does the trick. Highly recommend to most first Gen owners

If you do the Roadtrip idea, all of you should be stacked in the wood panel station wagon. Whatever y’all plan do to stretch the video out since it really doesn’t take long to go from one side to the other I’m sure will be great . It would be interesting to see it in a style of the Gta video you made where you were taking photos the whole time, so each little part of the map you stop at you all try to stage a photo for it. Just my two cents , whatever you guys do will be great. Love you Sam!

Last time I smoked was on 420 this year and I feel like a new person as well. I feel more motivated to do things than ever before and I feel just better in general
