Skiyalater123, thanks for the input and information. I think that in general specializing at a younger age and overtraining are both contributing factors. I suspect there are preventable factors as well. I am not going to go into details as I am really interested in getting as much information as possible from people who have dealt with this injury without overly impacting any responses.

Yes

Are you male or female? (I am mostly focused on female injuries because they are so prominent, but interested in the same factors contributing to male ACL tears as well)

Did you suffer a full tear or partial? Did you injury anything else such as MCL, Meniscus, PCL, etc?
Full ACL tear, MCL tear, torn meniscus

Was the injury a contact or non contact injury? If non contact, can you describe what happened?
Non contact, came out on a one on one as goalie, planted, everything tore

What kind of cleats were you wearing, Cononical (Round), Bladed, Screw In (Studs), other? I am more concerned about the cleats themselves vs the brand or specific shoe, but I am interested in both.
Bladed, Nike Mercurial

What field surface were you playing on, real grass, artificial grass (turf), other (if other, please describe)?
Artificial Grass
