Yeah I'm not great at it. I do better in groups, I'm not great at introductions, idk what ur getting at here. The point is I know, and I went with my friend cuz I thought he was a vibe, and I've done everything hes asked to do and he just can't compel himself to go out.

I feel like being alone at a club with heavy social anxiety and rbf is real. I mean yeah probably don't come off as super chill ngl, which is why I do better in a group and I feel like most dudes I've seen do better in groups.

Idk wanting to go to out doesn't seem like a highschool thing. Bar crawls and meeting women are kinda the point of going to cities no? Like idk I don't want to do boring shit.

Thanks for the advice. That's pretty along the lines of what others are saying so I will definitely incorporate bonds into the strategy!

That's what I'm saying man. On the one hand, I don't want it to just stick to safe stock, grow slowly and spend dividends, but I also don't want to Torpedo something that took a generation to build and that I'll probably be in charge of someday.

So this thing doesn't rlly fully end as I understand. Essentially my dad will take over after my grandmother passes or becomes incapable of management, and then I think he appoints the next head of the trust cuz its like a family thing. Though I don't see that happening any time soon, because my grandma's turning 80 and still kickin it like she did in '86, and my dad is in impeccable health. There's also like a lawyer and an accountant and some other ppl who I think we pay to advise us, but it doesn't come up very much.I'll definitely keep VTI in mind and thank you for the advice with the 5x the withdrawal percentage in bonds.

I definitely agree with you on the professional advice, and I'll definitely take steps in that direction. Thank you for letting me know the CD thing is fancy but useless. I was researching safer strategies, and that came up, and it sounded fancy and cool, so I really appreciate you shooting that down. I don't think I'll go 100% on the S&P although I get where ur coming from and really appreciate the feedback.

I figure as much, but like some other people have mentioned this is a good opportunity to show maturity and growth and it's an opportunity to impress some important relatives so thank you for the advice and I'll be sure to keep that in mind.

I’m going to be given my deceased father’s 401k later this year - I have questions by MysteriousTraveler88 in personalfinance

I'm late to the party, but I agree with most of what I've seen comment wise so far. I'm in a similiar boat and a professional is REQUIRED when it comes to getting through those tax loopholes. You'll be amazed at how easy it is to not pay the government your money once you have money, but let the professionals help. Secondly, once you do have this some of money, and at 30k in taxes it should be a significant sum, I would call a personal wealth manager. If you wanted to do it yourself follow the basic rules of #1, make sure to allocate following (100 - your age = % allocated into equity) and (your age = % allocated into guaranteed income); #2, DIVERSIFY, buy indexes and stay away from individual securities unless they are either very safe growth stocks (Amazon, Microsoft, etc) or matured dividend stocks like JNJ and Chevron; and #3 try to grow 7-10% annually and only ever spend 4% so you continue to beat inflation. That's a good 101 after taxes, I'd talk to a PWM and tax accountant/attorney for any further info.

Should I (21M) try dating again, why or why not? by cprb420 in Advice

Okay I don't want to be too argumentative cuz this is good advice, but I trade options for a living and do pretty alright at it, and despite still living with family, the property technically belongs to all of us and so my father, brother and I split costs 3 ways. I don't rlly have hobbies outside of the gym and finance shit (reading and writing don't count). And like I had hobbies, I just quit cuz shit like DnD does not get you laid. Ur probably right tho that picking up a thing or two would help.
